I run a decent sized sub. I've noticed the last few days that all my sticky posts that say where else you can find us are getting mass reported. I usually have like 6 reports a week. I'm getting a report on every post made that gets the sticky all of a sudden. I just took the word "Lemmy" out and we'll see if that changes....
I'd get some clay, make some nonsense sculptures, then just dot them around. There'd be whole reports written on what a triangle with a dot on it could possibly mean.
It moves water. Not anywhere in particular, just makes it move within the tank. It does this job quite well. It sounds ridiculous when you try to explain it to anyone that's not part of the hobby.
I've been thinking a lot about why I decided to come here and I know it started off as a "they can't make me use their shitty app!" while simultaneously using test apps that crash and navigating less content than Reddit. What is the primary motivation for all of this anymore? Is anger enough of a motivation to keep people away...
I wouldn't have left. I use Apollo as my way to access reddit, I've tried the official app but it's dreadful and when I heard Apollo was closing I was already set to protest. When I read the post from Apollo about everything that went down, well, I don't think I want to go back.
If I just had high caffeine tolerance I'd guess it's either because of fast caffeine metabolism or my ADHD. Sometimes a regular cup of coffee is more than enough to wake me up and improve my ability to concentrate and sometimes not even a 4x Espresso is enough, with no discernible reason why. I have tried drinking coffee on an...
I used to teach at a college for kids with disabilities, a lot of ADHD kids self medicate with caffeine and rather than have the buzz that happens to others it calms their minds and improves their focus.
No scientific data but I assume it reacts differently with the ADHD brain in a similar way that amphetamines are proven to.
Nobody is quite sure what species it is, what's wrong with it, or anything. There's theories that it's the last member of an extinct species which would be very cool, but more likely it's a known species, possibly a blue whale, with a disability of some type.
I've applied for jobs a few times and this has always been a problem. Now that I've been out of college for a while it's even more of a problem. I don't have anyone from college that would even remember me. I can't use my current coworkers because I don't want my current employer to know I'm leaving until I have a new job lined...
As a former college lecturer I definitely remember my students for years, so thats still an option. I'd do whatever lecturer you knew best and then the admin department who can confirm that you were there.
I was watching a news item earlier and apparently on getting on you need to sign a paper that says it hasn't been inspected or certified by any third party. It's just DIY.
Tbf, poor people do risky activities too. Rich people hire submarines, pay for tourist trips to space, and go climb everest, all of which have a fairly high risk of death. Poor people do street racing, do wheelies on dirt bikes, or go diving off cliffs.
It's just some humans are super cavalier with their safety.

I have a though dilemma. I got a date for a wisdom teeth surgery but It's one day before a concert. Could something bad happen if I attend both? I will only drink water on the concert.
US? I've heard about this. You really don't need to pull them if they're not an issue. No other country does that. Here they take them out if they grow in wrong or if you don't have enough space and they're squashing the other teeth, but never 'just in case'.
Something interesting to me, they seem to be talking about the trust users put in other users, for example on buyitforlife and suggesting advertisers can access that.
We've obviously been aware of self promotion on Reddit for a long time, new users showing up and promoting an app or a film exclusively without marking it as an ad in any way, but I guess I never realised Reddit might be monetising that.
Probably very naive of me but it explains why reporting those users doesn't do anything.
It’s disappointing to see some of the larger subreddits going public with a ‘what’s the point?’ tone. Most are staying private, but some aren’t. As if Reddit doesn’t exist solely because of its user generated content. If enough subs permanently shut down, they’ll be forced to reconsider their API position. Social...

For me i would just place like random paintings, like NASA would be very confused on why Mars would have paintings lmao.

If Reddit phased out 3rd party apps gradually and tactfully, do you think this would have gone the way it has? The Reddit app is terrible, but is it any worse than navigating and learning the fediverse so far? Be honest.

I think we should (politely) message major hobby subreddits that went public to go private again. It's important to continue the protest.
