And your friend would have killed you. A drowning person isn’t thinking rationally. They will grab you and hold you under the water with all of their adrenaline fueled strength to try to stay above the water. If someone is drowning you never get in the water with them unless you are specifically trained for that and even then it is a last resort. Drowning is one of those situations where if you just run in and try to help without thinking then the ambulance just winds up hauling away two corpses.
What you should be doing is finding anything that floats and throwing it to them or finding something long that they can grab onto so you can pull them to shore. For example tie a couple towels together to make a rope or dump out a cooler and throw it in for them to grab.
They last even longer if the water is cold. In the winter people have been brought back after spending several hours dead under the ice after falling through and drowning. I think the record for someone who made a full recovery is 17 hours.

As long as you are buying actual leather and not “genuine leather” then whatever you buy should easily last several years even if not cared for. Well cared for leather goods can last decades.
Some are picky but even those you can almost always train them to eat pre killed. Usually the most you need to do is just warm the rat up and wiggle it with a tongs. Snakes are pretty dumb so that’s enough for it to look alive to them. It’s a whole lot more convient to have a freezer full or rats than to keep live rats. Not to mention live prey can be dangerous to the snake; it usually isn’t but before I finally got my snake to start eating prekilled one of the live rats I fed her gave her a scratch on her eye cap.
Just to be clear, if you are shooting someone you are always “shooting to kill”. You never so much as point a firearm at someone unless you are ready to end their life. If someone happens to be incapacitated but survive being shot then that is a happy accident but it should never be the expected outcome.
ACAB of course and I agree with everything else you said. I just get really tired of the “why didn’t they shoot the in the leg or hand” comments. Real life isn’t an action movie. That isn’t how things work. If you are shooting someone you are aiming center of mass so you have the best chance of hitting despite the high stress scenario which it will be if you’re not a sociopath. And you keep pulling the trigger until they drop because gunshot wounds will rarely drop someone in one hit. Even of it winds up being a lethal wound it can take a while to kill or even be debilitating to someone who is almost certainly running on adrenaline; until then all you’ve done is piss them off and make yourself a threat. In high stress situations people are known to be able to sustain fatal gunshot wounds and not even realize that they’ve been shot until the adrenaline starts wearing off.
I’m willing to bet that they just didn’t want the legal hastle of collecting data on minors. Also minors are going to be more likely to lie about any potential sexual history.

Unless you’re just talking about a minisplit or something $5k is remarkably cheap for a full AC install. Theres a big difference between throwing a window unit in and having an actual AC unit installed. You can’t just slap a second compressor on an existing condenser. It would need a second condenser or an upgrade and second circuit run for your existing one, plus running refrigerant pipes, likely running new wiring, ventilation, controls, refeigerant costs and system tuning. A window AC unit isn’t even in the same ballpark as far as price goes.
There is a lot of info they need that frankly you can’t trust the average client to accurately give over the phone. They need to know what your walls are made of, are they concrete, brick, wood or metal stud? Are they going to need masonry tools? What is the interior wall material; asbestos reinforced plaster is still not uncommon in older houses and if they’re working with that the the price goes up dramatically? Is there electricity run to that location already or will they need a new circuit? If there is electricity run to that location does the existing circuit have capacity to handle the load? Is there even available space to mount the new unit? Is it in a neighborhood where it will need a cage around it to deter theives? And that’s only some of the info they need.
About the only accurate price they could give you over the phone is the cost of the unit itself which you could also just find via a google search. The actual labor and other costs will vary by orders of magnitude depending on certain conditions.

I actually just saw this (app being screwy). To answer your question I also identify as demi. It’s just that demi is a microlabel under the ace umbrella and allos usually don’t know what demisexuality is so unless I’m in a specifically ace community I just identify as ace to keep things simple. Demi is also basically just “ace until proven otherwise” so the difference in nonexistent for anyone I’m not already in a relationship with.
There’s also the fact that I’m still not sure if I really feel sexual attraction in the demi way or if I just crave intimacy with someone I am otherwise attracted to and sex is one of the most intimate things you can do with someone. I’m strongly leaning towards the latter but it’s a tricky distinction to make. I can want to have sex with someone but for me that desire doesn’t feel much different from wanting to cuddle with them nonsexually. So when it comes to my actual behavior I fit the demi label better but when it comes to how I think then I actually fit the asexual label better.
