Ya found me! 💕

  • Plants don't have nerve endings, nervous systems or brains to process fear/pain. There is no comparison between 🐔's & 🥔' s.

  • Eating 🥩 because you enjoy it is the moral equivalent of watching 🐶 fighting because you enjoy it.

  • Feeding a cow for years, then killing it for only a handful of meals is wildly inefficient. ♻️

  • Studies link meat to heart disease, strokes, diabetes and pancreatic cancer.🫀

  • Beans are cheap af. 💵

LemmyIsFantastic,

As a woman who was single and dating, saying you don't have a social media is a red flag. Best case scenario, you truly don't and it's probably from having some sort of arrogant judgement value about people who do, worst case, you have a spouce you are hiding from me.

Either way, not worth the risk. Like all the women I know feel the same. Sure it's a historically newer redflag that didn't exist 10-50 years ago, but neither was worrying about crypto gambling and manospehre BS. Modern problems require modern precautions.

krellor,

I love that your post gave a probabilistic binning of someone who doesn't have a traditional social media account, which was unironically confirmed by people replying with rustled jimmies.

Come on folks, it should be clear from context that she is saying that a single woman setting up dates is going to use what limited info they have to avoid stalkers, cheaters, red pillers, and anti social people. That this might filter out perfectly normal people along with the creeps is the cost of maintaining safety and not wasting time, which is pretty much par for the course in dating. There's also a difference between exchanging info after a brief meeting, and actually knowing a person for an extended time and then dating. I doubt OP is saying that someone they studied with for three semesters would be excluded for lack of social media, because they have real life context and don't need the proxy filters.

Also, getting real close in these replies to "but I'm a nice guy" and "I'm not like other girls."

The fucking Muppets aren’t entertaining. At all. Not even a tiny little bit. First of all, who is their intended audience, even? Not kids, really, because they contain a bunch of references to stuff that kids really won’t get. Kids don’t really know how a rock drummer is supposed to behave. They won’t find Kermit and...

I mostly agree about the Muppets, I don't really see the appeal and have never found any of their media all thay interesting.

HOWEVER

The Christmas Carol is the one exception, I don't like it because it's Muppets, I like it for the beautiful music and honestly heartwarming storytelling. Best adaptation by far and it's a Christmas tradition now.

What search engine do you recommend that isn't Google or Bing?

I’m still trying to de-Google my life, little by little. I don’t trust Bing for similar reasons. DDG is feeling shady of late. What’s the search engine you all recommend that I can inject into my daily life? Is there perhaps a search engine that is focused on code, or have we just all moved on to AI for searching?...

OCTOBER 3, 2018 The Cruelty Is the Point

But it’s not the burned, mutilated bodies that stick with me. It’s the faces of the white men in the crowd. There’s the photo of the lynching of Thomas Shipp and Abram Smith in Indiana in 1930, in which a white man can be seen grinning at the camera as he tenderly holds the hand of his wife or girlfriend. There’s the undated photo from Duluth, Minnesota, in which grinning white men stand next to the mutilated, half-naked bodies of two men lashed to a post in the street—one of the white men is straining to get into the picture, his smile cutting from ear to ear. There’s the photo of a crowd of white men huddled behind the smoldering corpse of a man burned to death; one of them is wearing a smart suit, a fedora hat, and a bright smile.

Their names have mostly been lost to time. But these grinning men were someone’s brother, son, husband, father. They were human beings, people who took immense pleasure in the utter cruelty of torturing others to death—and were so proud of doing so that they posed for photographs with their handiwork, jostling to ensure they caught the eye of the lens, so that the world would know they’d been there. Their cruelty made them feel good, it made them feel proud, it made them feel happy. And it made them feel closer to one another.

That it would drastically harm queer people and those questioning their identity. Social pressure, fear and shame keeps people from asking certain questions or exploring their desires when it's potentially tied to them for life.

Look at the while concept of "queer appropriation" by celebrities. Their entire life is public and ironically while feeling themselves out and experimenting with new presentations, it's ironically met with backlash from some queer people thinking it's a capitalist ploy to appeal to queer fans.

Being able to just ask questions and explore is a fundamental part of understanding yourself. Anonymity is a precious gift, but one that is also easy to take granted.

Edit: Also religious folk.

Like Republicans are anti-whaling anyways... 🙄

The selective outrage over animal rights is such manufactured bullshit. But if I am being honest, democrats, progressives and leftists are all equally culpable in these do nothing virtue signal outrages. If you are wearing leather, eating meat and financing animal factory farming, I don't wanna hear about your crocodile tears when an imaginary whale or a fictional dog is hurt.

What was life like for ever human that has ever existed? I'd like to see every single day start to finish from their perspective, sorted as randomly as possible.

The worst part of traditional immortality is being stuck as you, I'd like to experience the entire library and range of human experinces. It would eventually know how it started and how it all ended, while seeing every perspective that got us there. They'd be a lot of days toiling in a field, a lot of days in office cubicles toiling in excel, but most importantly I'd see the small victories and tragedies that make up every life. I think that'd be the real beauty.

"I had too many drinks at a Christmas party"

was also cited for having an open container in his truck.

I guess it was too many drinks while I literally driving. Just fucking typical for republicans 🙄

highenergyphysics,

I genuinely hope they pass the bill.

Imagine how fucking easy that discrimination lawsuit would be lmao.

If I didn’t know how fucking stupid conservatives were, this would look like an inside job designed to bankrupt the city.

In November 2022, McCormick noticed a news report detailing an "unauthorized and unlicensed cannabis farm, located on unincorporated land," that was raided by members of the Riverside County Sheriff's Office. McCormick then met with members of the sheriff's office to provide paperwork showing the legality of his cannabis farm.

At around 4:30 a.m. local time on December 7, McCormick was woken up by members of the sheriff's office as they began their raid.

Fuck! He proactively went to show his legal status and all that did was put himself on their radar.

However, the sheriff's office was informed by members of the tribe that they were not authorized to conduct the raid on their land. In turn, members of the sheriff's office said the tribal members "didn't know what they were talking about," the lawsuit said.

Much of McCormick's property and cannabis plants were destroyed during the raid and officers confiscated $300,000 from the tribe's safe.

Outright theft. They had no jurisdiction and didn't care that they didn't.

Additionally, the lawsuit said that on January 8, 2023, McCormick's "family home 'mysteriously' caught fire, after the sheriff's office ordered power and water to his property to be turned off, resulting in the home "being completely burned down," along with much of his personal belongings.

Why would the water be shut off?! Goddamnit. Every part of this article is infuriating, nothing about this was law enforcement, just armed thugs raiding locals for fun and profit.

Calling it now,the next MCU Kang appearance will be by Don Cheadle with the first line being...

"I'm here, deal with it."

TheGrandNagus,

Oh no, it’s even worse than that.

It’s the CEO and other staff repeatedly speaking of the system as if it’s basically fully capable and it’s only for legal reasons why a driver is even required. Even saying that the car could drive from one side of the US to the other without driver interaction (only to not actually do that, of course).

It’s the company never correcting people when they call it a self driving system.

It’s the company saying they’re ready for autonomous taxis and saying owner’s cars will make money for them while they aren’t driving it.

It’s calling their software subscription Full Self Driving

It’s honestly staggering to me that they’re able to get away with this shit.

If you're horrified by animals dying on a farm during a disaster then consider why they are on the first place. It's not a kindness to breed them in to a life of suffering, cages forced breeding only to be slaughtered. The real solution here is to stop the cycle of harming an animal for human pleasure.

(which is also the same reason dog/cock fighting is wrong)

Violent bigots come in ever flavor. At a certain point, it's not worth the effort to suss out the source of their prejudices. It's an unanswerable question that leads to the same dissapointment in simple minded zealotry no matter their specific path.

I'd rather spend time trying to understand the ones I respect instead of getting lost in the maze of a random scum.

How do I cope with my father hating me?

My father, who convinced me (16 m) at the time to move in with him instead of my mother when they moved. All 3 of the other siblings stayed with my mother. He then kicked me out the week I turned 18, a week into my senior year. Since then he stays in touch only to speak with his grandchildren (now going on 4 kids). I have never...

Well, this sort of thing is honestly above any social media's pay grade, so I will only tell you what I did after talking with my therapist

I know how this feels and I'm sorry you are going through it too. After the only member of my family who was even remotely kind to me died (and even that was an abusive relationship), I cut off contact with everyone else related to me and my life has only improved. It's been about 6 years now but i am much happier for it, no judgement, no yelling, no control, life is just... quieter.

You can't control how others act, and your father has had several decades to reconsider. At a certain point, you should just protect your own well being and go no contact.

Being a part of your life is a privilege, not a right.

I'd be embarrassed to be on the same stream as Tate, Musk or Jones. Literally every single person on that list is aggressively terrible person. They've created basically an unintentional crabs in the bucket situation, these people can only associate with each other and they all drag each other down.
