Hell, YouTube too. I remember seeing an hours long video that was a response to someone else's hour long video (I think it was about dark souls 2 or bloodborne?). There's tons of response videos there too

I started playing Quake 1 for the first time a few weeks ago, and was surprised how much I enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to this remaster so I can give the second one a try

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart peaks at less than 9k concurrent players on Steam, third worst PC launch for PlayStation game (gameworldobserver.com)

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is the latest PlayStation game ported to PC. While it got attention thanks to the use of DirectStorage 1.2, its launch numbers are quite unimpressive compared to SIE’s other first-party titles on Steam.

To go with what other people are saying, in addition to it launching at full price, it also came out in a year with a ton of other high profile releases just a month or two ago. Between Diablo 4, Legend of Zelda, and Final Fantasy 16, it's hard to justify buying this game at full price if someone had already bought even one of those other games.

Personally, I'll maybe get it when it goes on sale on PC, but for now I don't feel like paying $60 for it.

Yes, but Apple doesn't let you use adblocker on it. There's a specific Firefox app they released that has it baked in, so you'd have to use that instead

I’m kind of surprised. I thought the first one wasn’t that old, and also didn’t sell that well. I’m happy for them that it did well enough for a sequel, maybe this one will fair better than the first.

Edit: just watched the trailer, looks like this one has voice acting right out of the gate, which is nice. While it eventually got patched it, I remember people complaining about the lack of voices at launch.

Max Payne one works surprisingly well on controller. You'll have to use stream's controller mapping, but Remedy have a configuration already up you can use. I had to modify it a little bit (I especially recommend adding quick save and quick load to the back bumpers of the deck), but overall I got through the whole game with a controller

Or, if you're fine with a duology, the Great Ace Attorney. They have more convenience features than the original trilogy (though I also still highly recommend the original trilogy)

Thank you! Good to know Ernest is working on it

From what I understand, that seems to be how Tencent works. They buy these studios and then stay largely handoff (though I could be misremembering)

I think it's died down some in recent years, but Tom Nook from animal crossing. They've done a lot to try and make him even more friendly in recent games, but even in the first he sees a guy who ended up in his town who didn't have any plans, money, or even a place to stay. He decided to give that person a horse with a loan that had no interest and could be paid off at any time, and even gave him a few chores to pay him and help him meet the townspeople. Dude was super nice, but all everyone remembered was that you had to pay him money and so there's this version of the character in people's heads where he's this super mean and greedy guy.

Haha, whoops, that's what I get for but proof reading. I agree, it's a very funny image, so I'll leave it as is!

Not to mention, once you factor in the dlc tracks, the track list is absolutely insane. It'd be hard to convince people to move to a new installment

OC Really missing a true "save" ability for posts and comments on kbin

I am aware that upvoted posts make it to https://kbin.social/fav however that just doesn't work well as I already have 1,000+ pages in there. Moreover, that only registers upvoted posts and not comments. A workaround would be to just use boost, and only upvote when you want to "save" but that is just not conventional imho. The...

I actually do the opposite, I upvote things I like and boost stuff I want to save.

I agree though, I would appreciate a dedicated save feature (especially one that's more robust than reddit's)

We really need a way to block communities on mobile without having to actually enter them.

I’m sure there are ways to do this on desktop, but in mobile, as far as I can tell, if I come across a nsfw community on my thread and I want to block I, I can’t do that without first clicking on the link to the community feed.

JowlesMcGee,
JowlesMcGee avatar

I mean, yeah, you could put "block magazine" under the "more" options. I don't think it would take up that much more space, and you wouldn't even see it unless you clicked "more"

Hah, this was going to be my answer as well.

One of my favorite scenes in The Thing is when McCready is sitting at his desk making an audio recording with an open door out of focus in the background. The way the shot just lingers there while the audience sits in dread of what might happen is great.

My favorite is John Carpenter's The Thing, with was already mentioned here by @Ragnell

My least favorite would be Bird Box (is that a horror film, or just a thriller?). I tried watching it and was just bored the whole time. If Bird Box doesn't count as horror, then I'd have to say Cronenberg's The Fly. It's not a bad movie per say, but it just didn't work for me for whatever reason.

I also really liked In The Mouth of Madness! Not as much as The Thing, but it was definitely a good time. The opening shot in the diner is amazing and pretty much immediately had me hooked for the rest of the movie.

I'm not sure if this is the first time I'm noticing it, or if it's actually the first time period, but I noticed they finally put anti gravity on these new tracks with Coopa Cape.

Wow, sick image there. You sure showed them.

Assuming the adaptation was good, I'd love to see the impel down Ivankov intro.

One thing I would caution with them is that Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin (and I believe 1 remastered) don't have cloud save syncing. If you like playing on your main desktop and your steam deck, you have to manually move the saves over. Looking at the store page, it looks like 3 has the same issue.

Funnily enough, the original DS1 Prepare to Die edition and Dark Souls 2 both have cloud saves

Thanks for sharing, I didn't realize 2 Mello had new music coming out. I'm looking forward to the full album on the seventh!

In the meantime, I'm digging this song

I've heard the PS1 port of Doom is good/interesting. If you haven't played it before (or even if you have) it might be worth checking out. It has different lighting and textures, from my understanding.
