.m3u8 is a file format for video streams. It works like a playlist, it's a file that defines a collection of individual video files, each being one small part of the stream.
m3u8's can't be played natively by a browser, and if the OP has enabled autoplay media, kbin is probably directing the browser to that URL, the browser can't play it in-tab, so it downloads it as a file instead.

How / where can I retrieve a list of magazines that I’m subscribed to? Via the top menu bar I can get all postings of all subscribed magazines in one big feed, but a) I like to browse by subject/magazine, and b) in the one-feed-fits-all method, the busier magazines push postings in small magazines out of sight, which is a pity.
is there a way to make my favourite way of reading postings and comments - by newest, instead of by hottest - a permanent choice?

This is because previously the upvote was boost, they were switched around to be similar to other fediverse systems.
Dev mentioned in another thread that the reputation system should be changed to have up/down count instead of boost/down. But they have a lot to do right now so it might not be the most pressing issue...
The search form has been fixed (if you were experiencing this issue). This time, the Docker recreate may take a bit longer.
