@baronvonj About tables, it has to do with how things are rendered. kbin, at least for now, doesn't support the markdown syntax for tables.
About the comments, from what I understand replies on lemmy should appear on kbin as well, but due to the sudden influx of users some things had to change on server configuration and delays on updates from fediverse are expected for now.
Questions about Kbin from a new user (reddit escapee)
Is this the right place to post these kinds of questions? I can see the "select a magazine" button below, but I'm not sure which one would be appropriate in this case.
How can I look for new content? be it from the Fediverse/Lemmy or otherwise, how do I find "subreddits"? (for example anime discussion) -> Ironically, the "select a magazine" button is pretty good for this, but it isn't something I'd call intuitive.
Is it possible to change the UI? Be it from an options menu or an extension like RES. I really just want the comment\top reply to be at the top and not the bottom of the thread.
@sheepyowl Hi there! I just joined kbin today for the same reasons as you today so I don't have all the answers, but I have some:
You can search for magazines (aka subreddits) by clicking on "Magazines" on top navigation bar (alternatively by going to https://kbin.social/magazines
On the top right of the page, under "search - plus - your name" there is a cog you can click on and change various things about the theme and layout. Regarding your specific question, I guess it depends on how you sort the replies. When you click on a post, right under the post you can sort by "hot", "active", "newest", or "oldest".
As a (former) Reddit user, I just joined #Kbin to watch and help support the potential #RedditMigration coming from that platform. Here is me there: @tchambers
And I just supported @ernest the creator of the platform, and so should you: suspect next week he will need all the support the Fedi can give.
Hi, I'm loving Kbin so far! I was wondering if there's any mobile apps (iOS specifically) being worked on? I'm mostly wondering because I find that the mobile website isn't quite there yet but I might also be interested in contributing towards the project.
@NotSteve_ There seems to be a kbin-mobile repo but it's on github and hasn't gotten much love recently.
At least on Android using the website as a PWA seems to be working mostly fine, but I definitely wish for a native app as well. I think this is where the community can step up and help a lot. @ernest seems to have his plate full with server development and infra work.
