I've never been a breakfast person, and I don't wake up hungry. I used to go a few hours without eating anything and then have a breakfast of two scrambled eggs, 1/2 cup of brown rice, and a sliced avocado with some salt or soy sauce. That's a very tasty and healthy breakfast, but I get hungry again within a couple of hours....
On weekdays, bread with something on it. If I'm planning on a really hard day, I might make a sunny egg and put it on a toast so that I don't starve 3 hours later.
I like the overall lack of in-jokes I've encountered here so far, and I want things to stay that way. This might be an unrealistic thing to hope for, but I like good, pure, discussion, as boring as that may be for some people.
Kind of makes the title moot. People with home entertainment systems (be it a PC or a console) also spend time playing on a handheld device when not at home.
Did they expect people to carry around cables and a console to play while waiting for the dentist?
There will probably be a second drop when the API changes come into effect and the 3rd party apps stop working, since people will literally not be able to browse on their apps.
This is the first time I've realized that comments are federated. I absolutely thought that the comments will not be shared across, and only the content would be. Woah.
Also that lemmy.click site has some nice UI
Let's be real - it literally makes no difference at all. I don't know why they did it considering it makes absolutely 0 difference from a user standpoint.
When hanging out with friends in discord or whatever, what games do you all tend to sit down and play with one another? For me it's some combination of Valorant, Guild Wars 2, and Omega Strikers but I'm curious what everyone else plays with their friends :)
No matter how many times I try to watch one of these shows that use this clunky, low polygon count GCI, I just end up disgusted and feel like these studios just consider us all suckers....
And then have no activity in them. Not quite sure why this is happening, is it power hungry idiots thinking if I make fifty magazines, maybe one will be popular?...
The content will be visible to all, but conversation is limited to whichever lemmy instance your account is in.
In Kbin.social you can only chat with Kbin.social accounts in the replies/comments.
For me flair is probably the most important. I follow a lot of organized sports and being able to quickly identify which team someone supports helps the conversation move along without having to write "as a fan of..." in every single comment. And this isn't a like talking shit, sports guy thing. It's genuinely extremely useful...
@aroom I don't like this because I know that people in public and especially on the internet, can have absolute psychopathic reactions to simple discussions. I don't need some lunatic looking through my history because I downvoted them for saying something that is clearly insane - I would rather stay relatively anonymous.
And that is without even considering doxxing.
In the short-term it would benefit PC gamers. ActiBlizz has been losing fanbase/PR recently, while Microsoft's firms have been gaining favor. We can imagine Microsoft straightening up some of the kinks in ActiBlizz and having them release games without the insane unfettered greed that they have been showing.
Playstation users may lose out on some new games.
Consolidation of the market is typically bad, and it would be especially bad if Microsoft execs (or at least the MC part that is responsible for gaming) went the way of ActiBlizz, as it would bring many games under another greedy company. However, we can argue that you can't go much worse than what ActiBlizz currently is - at a reasonable bad-case scenario, the games from ActiBlizz will simply remain bundled with garbage support and microtransactions.
What I'm saying is, this is a low-risk scenario. There isn't much to lose from cutting ActiBlizz leadership out of their positions. The only lose-case here, for PC/xbox gamers, is if (unpurchased) ActiBlizz suddenly gains a new, better leadership, and that is very unlikely.
I am in favor of allowing the purchase, as a gamer. I'm not in favor of allowing the purchase if we're looking at business statistics because Microsoft can become too big of a factor in the business of the gaming world through purchases like these.
I mean we can brute-force it with bots that read everything and cause a lot of load on the server(scraping), but I don't think it should be done. We need an API to create bots.
It stands to reason that the most powerful swordsman are people who are both highly talented and very practiced. Anything outside of great talent and a lot of practice would have to be a significant unique ability (presumably snake hashira?), or outworldly-strong talent (Giyu?), and so on.
I think it would feel like a waste of time, to me, if every Hashira got a lot of screen time. They are side-characters to me. There are a few more Hashiras to see as well, but I'd rather just see Tanjuro's story progress instead of flashbacks.
I started using mastodon when musk bought twitter and kbin with all the reddit API shitshow. I like the idea of the fediverse but how does it have longevity?
I honestly think they should add rewards for replies like Reddit had - simply because it makes money for the website, and then it's less reliant on absolute goodwill.
Questions about Kbin from a new user (reddit escapee)
Is this the right place to post these kinds of questions? I can see the "select a magazine" button below, but I'm not sure which one would be appropriate in this case.
How can I look for new content? be it from the Fediverse/Lemmy or otherwise, how do I find "subreddits"? (for example anime discussion) -> Ironically, the "select a magazine" button is pretty good for this, but it isn't something I'd call intuitive.
Is it possible to change the UI? Be it from an options menu or an extension like RES. I really just want the comment\top reply to be at the top and not the bottom of the thread.

OC Reddit's in-jokes and overall sense of "humor" are lame and I don't want to see them migrate to Kbin.
