cyberfae,

Yet another reason to continue using public transport and my ebike rather than buy a car. I realize not everyone has the means to do this, but if you do, then it's the better option.

cyberfae,

If you don’t like it, no one is forcing you to use those apps and services.

I go out of my way to avoid apps that harvest data, and as a result my life is much more difficult. It's a lot of work to stay on top of it, and there is still a lot of data that gets harvested anyways. It's impossible for the average user to do what you're telling us to do.

cyberfae,

OP may have posted it to this mag instead of another one by mistake

30 Criticisms That Hold Women Leaders Back, According to New Research (www.sheknows.com)

‘The researchers found that there was no “sweet spot” where a woman could position herself without being criticized. Women were either too young or too old, too attractive or not attractive enough, too educated or not educated enough. Introverted women were not seen as leaders and extroverted women were viewed as...

cyberfae,

too educated

This is a very odd criticism, especially in regards to leaders.

Nebraska governor signs executive order defining men as "bigger, stronger and faster" (boingboing.net)

Nebraska governor Jim Pillen, a Republican not noted as a women’s rights supporter, yesterday issued an executive order “defining” males and females and the attributes thereof. The anti-transgender political grandstanding offers fusty explanations of the sexes–men are “bigger, stronger and faster” on average–in...

cyberfae,

They're doing it because they can't stand it when this logic doesn't apply. They hate trans people, intersex people, and women who are stronger than them.

cyberfae,

This is way too funny!

cyberfae,

He knows they exist, he just hates them just as much as trans people.

cyberfae,

For them, this might be considered a feature rather than a bug.

cyberfae,

also i highly recommend at least dual booting linux

Dual booting is a pain in the ass though.

cyberfae,

It's a pain to constantly have to reboot to switch between them, you have less disk space, and Windows will sometimes interfere with the Linux installation. Plus there isn't enough things I can't do in Linux, that I can in Windows to justify it.

cyberfae,

I would really like some kind of augmented reality device that adds an RPG like interface to real life. Especially some kind of quest management system to keep track of tasks and display my current objective to the side. This combined with an xp system could help me gamify tasks at least to tha point of being bearable. Meters for vitals would also come in handy as I often forget to eat and drink, but I don't have this issue when playing survival games for some reason.

cyberfae,

Right now the thing with boosts is unintended behavior, the only reason that it's not getting fixed yet is there are a lot more urgent things to be done, like preventing the servers from crashing and burning under the new load. Also please consider buying ernest a coffee: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/kbin

cyberfae,

I usually use dark grey, gold, and various shades of purple.

cyberfae,

I have a lot of problems with poor memory, difficulty initiating tasks, time blindness, and problems with processing auditory information. It's hard to say which one is the most annoying though.

cyberfae,

It's not intended behavior, it just isn't getting fixed yet because ernest is still trying to fix the stability issues, which is a much higher priority. In the meantime, consider buying ernest a coffee, he could really use it. The link for that is here: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/kbin

cyberfae,

How would you define hate?

cyberfae,

I don't care about the morality of their speech as long as it's courteous and friendly

The thing is, I do. If someone advocates for limiting my rights because of something I can't change, I don't care how nice their tone is, they are still a bigot.

cyberfae,

There is no such thing as polite bigotry and it isn't as agnostic as you make it out to be. Bigotry at its core is the belief that certain groups of people don't deserve their human rights because of traits that can't be changed. I also never said I advocated for banning all or even most value systems that don't align with mine. I don't care what others do as long as they aren't forcing their beliefs upon others, advocating for the oppression of others, or otherwise cause harm. If you treat bigotry as a valid belief, you let it get a foothold. Once a significant number of bigots get into positions of power, they start to oppress people. Now lets say just for the sake of argument that it can be tolerated to an extent, I still shouldn't have to be exposed to it on a daily basis. I try to understand things from other peoples perspective, but I will not emphasize with those who consider me inferior and undeserving of my human rights.

cyberfae,

I never said that only left wing perspectives belong here, I only said bigotry shouldn't be allowed. You can be conservative without being a bigot. And no, I'm not going to hear someone out if they think I shouldn't be allowed to have any rights. I am a human being, and I deserve to be treated like one.

cyberfae,

Not that well, but on the bright side I realized just how bad my reddit addiction was.
