I’m not going to say most Democrats aren’t capitalists and in corporations’ pockets. But one party got ACA passed and tried to get some student loan forgiveness passed. Along with a whole number of different laws passed for worker protections and similar over the last few years.

On the other hand, Republicans have Trump who tried to pass Schedule F for government workers which would have taken us back to the spoils system where Presidents hand out government appointments, jobs and ambassadorships as rewards for loyalty. FYI we got rid of this system after it directly caused President Garfield’s assassination. That’s just one of many anti-worker, anti-poor, and anti-people reforms the last Republican president tried to accomplish. We don’t even need to touch the entire Republican party’s fascination with stripped rights away from women and trans people.

Both sides is bullshit.

I seen a bit of this interview yesterday. The article doesn’t cover it all. As soon as these 2 knuckleheads started spewing airports and it was Biden that said this I was confused as this was something Trump said a few years back. Didn’t they know? They ride the media for skewing things and they weren’t even aware of how Trump was called out in the same media for this some time back.

Below this fellow breaks down the double standard in more detail than the article does. It covers how Rogan and his Guest said no one should listen to Biden and how he is unfit for office due to this airport thing. Then when the producer points out to Rogan that Biden is referring to what Trump previously said, it wasn’t a big deal all of a sudden to Rogan and the guest.

Trump gets a “whoopsie doodle” pass and Trump is still the better choice in his mind I’m sure. Not saying Biden is a gem of a rose but with how hard the right are trying to pin anything on Biden and failing, Trump is still a rotten to the core choice for endless reasons.

This is a false equivalence. Most of the rhetoric I’ve seen about Hamas is that it’s an inevitable consequence of Israel’s treatment of restricting the Palestinian people to an open-air prison. Saying “We can’t support either Hamas or Israel” ignores the fact that most people in favor of Palestine are in favor of the civilians, the people who did nothing and are still bombed and tortured and executed. Not to say that Hamas deserves to be bombed and tortured, they’re citizens as well that shouldn’t be in this situation in the first place, but the large majority of support is in favor of the Palestinian people more broadly that are just unfortunate enough to be adjacent to the conflict and are forced to deal with the consequences of Israel’s bloodlust

to be clear: I do think Palestinians have a right to fight for their own freedom. But with the amount of disinformation at play here i don’t know how many atrocities are actually committed by Hamas and how many are the result of Israeli misinformation campaigns. But the amount of any of that doesn’t change how I feel – Innocent civilians should never die in a conflict like this. I don’t care if Hamas is doing it [edit: or not. The purpose of this statement is to show that I don’t care if Hamas is doing something abhorrent and Israel isn’t, or vice versa because it’s irrelevant to the broader point. Just to clarify, my language was unclear], Israel is very clearly ALSO doing it, and it’s abhorrent and gross no matter who. But in terms of the conceptual “high ground” the west likes to bandy around, Palestinians have a right to fight for its freedom from an occupying colonial force.

marron12,

It’s actually kind of complicated. I did some digging and it looks like the problem is that he wanted a new judge in his case challenging the election results in Georgia. But he made a legal move that prevented that from happening.

This is the case he’s talking about (warning: legal language). Trump originally asked for emergency relief, which means the case could be decided in days or weeks instead of months or years. Then he withdrew that request for some reason. So the original judge said no emergency relief for you. You don’t get it unless you ask for it and the judge decides it’s appropriate.

Well, Trump didn’t like that, so he did two things. He filed an appeal (of an order that you’re not allowed to appeal). That basically puts a stop to your case until the appeal is over. That’s just how it works and even brand new lawyers know this.

At the same time, he asked for his case to be assigned to a new judge. The court couldn’t say yes or no to that request because of the appeal. Thus the complaint that they wouldn’t assign a judge.

He dismissed the appeal a few weeks later and got a new judge.

A&K PEE51 USB-C Dual DAC Dongle audio cutting out and possible overheating concern.

A couple years ago, I bought an A&K PEE51 USB-C Dual DAC for my daily on-the-go listening. At the start of this year, I started noticing that the audio would randomly cut out when connected to my Samsung Note 20. It would be fine for multiple hours, cut out, and then need to be unplugged/replugged to work only for a few minutes...

Katzastrophe,

Maybe turn some of them into Sambal Oelek? It’s a fantastic condiment/base for a lot of cooking, and a glass of it makes a great homemade gift.

Narrrz,

actually, I thought of a (maybe) helpful way to visualise this.

x^-n is equivalent to 1÷(x^n), so 10^-1 is one tenth, 10^-2 is one hundredth, so on. the number, x, appears in the equation n times.

you can view positive exponents as the inverse, (x^n)÷1. likewise, the number appears n times.

so what happens for x^0? well, zero is neither positive nor negative. and to maintain consistency, x must appear in the equation zero times. so what you're left with is 1÷1, regardless of what number you input as x.

RothyBuyak,

How many good cops does it take to change a lightbulb?

I’ll let you know as soon as good cops change anything

ShittyKopper,

as someone who counts with fingers I am offended to be compared to a cop.
