In this video I show off some different Lemmy instances and discuss why the lemmyverse and even some individual Lemmy instances can become a better alternative to Reddit....
I feel uneasy that he’s promoting Lemmy given his iffy politics. Lemmy, Kbin, etc… will die like Gab if they get flooded with 4channers and Redpillers.
Film director James Cameron has expertise in designing and testing these submersibles, and he has many criticisms of the design of the sub that imploded, and of the hubris of the CEO who ignored repeated safety warnings from the diving community. He also mentions that the sub seems to have been attempting to resurface when it...
I'm shocked at how many users there are on kbin/lemmy and how explorable it all is. Though there are fewer users, it's way friendlier and less circlejerky than almost every Reddit community I've explored. Plus, unlike Mastodon, it's been incredibly easy to see other magazines or even other servers on my frontpage, search for them, and join them. I honestly wish the Fediverse doesn't become mainstream, just so that this sort of community can be preserved.
Apologies if this is a basic question, but I am curious to know what I am missing out on by not having access to private torrents? I have been able to find everything I wanted using public ones.
A senior United Nations relief official said that Russia has so far declined requests to help residents of Russian-controlled areas of southern Ukraine impacted by the breach of the Kakhkova dam.

Hi all! What's your opinion? Let's pretend reddit would give in to the protest and cancel the plan to increase the API pricing. Would all of you go back to Reddit or stay on Lemmy?...
Reddit has been getting worse over the past couple years, to the point that I've stopped browsing Reddit's front page altogether. Since Lemmy is scratching my forum itch just fine, I see no reason to go back except for the handful of my favorite communities which haven't migrated yet, and I see no reason to ever give them money again in the form of ads, Reddit Premium, awards, or my data from their mobile app. I don't really care what happens to Reddit anymore.
Why YSK this is that some of the soap absorbs into the fruit, especially berries, and let's say you are washing your cherries with dish soap, and you eat them. That story ends with a long bathroom trip as soap makes you a little queasy. ETA: Nobody has heard about this?! I see it in the southeast where I live.
YSK Spirit Airlines is the worst choice for air travel
YSK - this is a rant but meant as a public service because everyone should know about this shoddiness....

YSK that it is not a proper way to wash your fruits and veggies with soap
Why YSK this is that some of the soap absorbs into the fruit, especially berries, and let's say you are washing your cherries with dish soap, and you eat them.
