It currently counts the boosts as upvotes instead of the upvote button itself, but the downvote button does count as downvotes which is why that is. I don't remember the exact cause of this at the moment but I'm sure it's only temporary.
I don't have any protection. My phone fell down once on asphalt (because my headphones were connected weirdly and my backpack pulled it out of my pocket), the screen is slightly cracked but now it won't crack anymore
It became pretty much permanent for me, now I'm more on kbin the last few days than Reddit (like at least a 10:1 ratio in terms of minutes spent), where I only use reddit if I need some info that can't be found anywhere else and that AI can't answer me. I'm pretty sure even the real "2 days" folks will come here full-time as soon as the API changes go through and most apps for Reddit stop working.
Federation really helps too because here I get an active flow of interesting posts from this and different instances and communities unlike Reddit where you scroll r/popular once and you're done for the day.
I also tend to write much more extensive and informative comments on here than on Reddit, which probably comes with the territory, but I've seen it with other people too.
I'm 25 and I don't have a drivers license. I mean, I've never really felt the need to go and get one. Public transport is usually the fastest option where I live, and it takes a lot less responsibility to use it....
The people that are still on reddit really are the worst it seems they actively call everyone that participates the r* word basically. They don't care what happens to reddit.
Because they don't get listed by browse.feddit.de you'll want to browse https://kbin.social/magazines to browse "magazines", which is what they call communities...
The torrent dumps they are referring to are probably the pushshift dumps which can be found on here but they're a good bit complicated to use efficiently and are mostly text/link dumps only. I'd love to know if there are other torrents though which offer more readability or similar.
edit: also the filesizes are HUGE unpacked. The sizes shown on the page are the COMPRESSED sizes and I haven't yet tried unpacking a file newer than 2009.
I used my old reddit name on 2 lemmy instances but on kbin I decided to use my current default username because I found my reddit username to be pretty shitty and its also already many years old and to be honest I just wanted to really cut myself from reddit.
Love to see Daggerfall mentioned but (I know you and probably a sizable portion of the users on this instance know already) if anyone reads this that hasn't tried it or heard of it yet, use Daggerfall Unity if you find the "original" experience in DosBox to be too complicated. ( https://www.dfworkshop.net/ ).
It's moddable that way too and already has some 400 mods on Nexus Mods under the game tab "Daggerfall Unity".
The original game and Daggerfall Unity are free.
Edit: The game is not in 3rd person as far as I remember unless they added that somehow in DF Unity yet

What's your sleep schedule like?
How well do you guys sleep? My current sleep schedule is the worst it has ever been and I'm not sure how I should go about fixing it.

Why do people prefer cars over public transport?
