Hi everyone, I’m looking for an RSS feed reader available both for PC (Windows and/or Linux) and Android. I would like to have my feed synced and organized in the same way (and maybe some backup functionality too)....
Ive been excited to see folding phone screens for a few years now, but I’m reminded of the horrible creases that form over time (at least in the Samsung models I’ve seen)....
My screen protector fell off a while back on my Flip 3, so I've been rocking the factory installed one only. Which replacement do you recommend? I bought one off Amazon and botched the install. Haven't tried again since. Trying to hold out for the Flip 5 at this point.
Omnivore is the free, open source, read-it-later app for serious readers. I'm looking into setting up this read-it-later service. I have a lot of URLs saved in my browser and need a place to bookmark them as well. Thinking this is a good place to start....
Mobile apps, extensions, good looking UI. This might be the Wallabag replacement I've been looking for. Can I create RSS feeds from tags and such as well? Gonna try to spin it up tonight if I have time.
Two 62s, two hole-in-one's, Hovland's hole out here. A crazy start to the tourney, and very not US Open like. Expecting the conditions to get harder over the weekend, and I prefer the tougher conditions, especially for the US Open. But damn what a fun day.
A little less interesting without a large portion of the top 10 but this would be a cool tourney storeline-wise for someone not named zain or jmook to win. Kodorin getting that big win, Axe returning to glory, Magi/Aklo continuing their surges would all be really fun to see.
I come from older style forums and boards as well. Mostly linux/tech related stuff when it's not melee we're talking about. And its been a long time since I've used reddit outside of the few niche multis I created for my hobbies. So, that being said, ActivityPub and kbin are interesting to me, and if a large enough portion of the communities for my specific interests migrate here/lemmy, I'll be happy to stay around.
I'd welcome moving to a more sustainable platform, but I don't see r/ssbm migrating anywhere with meaningful numbers without a concerted effort by the mods to push the users somewhere else specific. No 3rd party apps will force me to just browse on desktop, and if we don't migrate anywhere r/ssbm will still be the best place to keep up to date on community happenings as Twitter/Discord are poor at doing so in my opinion. I don't use Twitter/Discord, watch streams, and almost never catch tournaments live, so that's the value of a melee online community for me.
I foresee another burst of activity when the API changes actually go into effect, hopefully kbin is federated and ready to go by then. We'll see what happens.
I went back to Smashboards a week or two ago looking to see if people still posted there, only to see mostly crickets... Glad to see some activity, hopefully we get a good migration to somewhere besides reddit or twitter.
Outside of that, excited for Wavedash this weekend. MeleeMajors shows HBox as attending, but start.gg doesn't have him. Did he drop out or something? Was excited to see him play Jmook this year finally.
According to FediDB lemmy has 100k users across all instances, and lemmy.ml has 36k users. It also says that across all instances, kbin only has 6k users.
edit: I wonder if kbin.social/stats it counting federated content as well? Such a large disparity between the two sources...
As a reddit migrator myself, I ended up here because it seems like the best open source version of reddit. But I have a few bugs and problems that I can't find a solution:...
I'm trying to figure out how to Favorite threads too. Every thread has a list of all the people who has favorite-ed it, but I can't for the life of my figure out how to do it on kbin. I've been boosting as a way to "save" posts for the time being. Not a great long term solution, so a proper save feature would be much appreciated.
I use wallabag as it has the most features, most importantly for me, mobile support. I can use the app as a share target to save an article and tag it. Searching works fine, but for reading the UI is not that great. However, you can create RSS feeds out of tags so I do that and read on my FreshRSS instance.
