As a DIYer I tend to use YouTube first for all my home repairs (appliances, electronics, etc). There tends to always be someone who is in my shoes before me so I can find the tutorials pretty quickly.
For me, it would probably have to be my Bialetti moka pot and Dualit toaster. I make a pot of coffee and toast almost every morning. I also hope to replace my old pans with a cast iron one soon, and I look forward to using that a lot.

Mastodon has 3rd party apps but it is not necessarily better. In fact I left mastodon as its instances all moderated external instances which means if you don’t setup your own instance you may have less than 100% visibility. It’s very much a hodgepodge.
