Perched on a cliff in the Bavarian Alps near Füssen, Germany, the Neuschwanstein Castle is the epitome of the idyllic. Its spires soar to the heavens, while the surrounding landscapes are an invitation to daydreaming. It’s the stuff of fairytales, so much so that the man who had it built is dubbed the “fairytale king” —...
I visited this castle recently and it's pretty gorgeous - a lot smaller on the inside than you'd think, and the tour basically is designed to get you in and out as fast as possible. But the view from the back windows after the tour is complete is a stunning vista worthy of a lot of photos. The walk up to the base of the castle is very picturesque, and there's options to take a horse & carriage ride up, if you're in a rush.
If you ever visit Munich, I highly recommend visiting as a day-trip!
Farscape has some of the most unexpected weird/dark plot twists that I can recall from a show like it. I watched it 10 years ago and it was an amazing, wild ride best gone into totally blind. I wish more people knew about it!
And the Lurkers Guide is still online! I've been doing the suggested chronological-without-spoilers first time watchthrough and have been reading the guide after every episode. You can tell a lot of the scripts were planned well in advance!

I just tried Praha for the first time last year and went repeatedly for the beef tartar 🤤!
And Rigolettos moved to something like 104th street and 100th ave, and then to somewhere on Jasper Ave closer to Chinatown - did it used to be on Rice Howard?
Likewise - it's only happened a few times in my life, but there have been moments in a 2k-line long SQL stored proc I inherited that I needed to print the thing off and user markers to try group code up and figure out what was happening (it was a monstrosity with no formatting or comments lol)
But yeah day to day, even year to year nobody is printing off their code to look at it - let alone only 20 lines of it lol
What do people think of this? An AHS nurse was making over $500k - people I know in the industry were saying to do this, he'd have to work 16 hours a day with overtime, every single day (no vacation, no weekend) for an entire year, and some said it sounded impossible. How is this even above-the-board lol?
Awesome! There's so many little niche subreddits I took for granted on Reddit that I was missing on the alternatives - I was missing Seinfeld shitposting lol
The Edmonton Heritage Festival Association will not allow the Russian pavilion to be part of this year's festival, citing safety concerns and an inability to find a solution. Multiple Ukrainian organizations asked the association to exclude the pavilion from participating because of the war.
I've tried raw chicken at a restaurant in Japan before, and let me tell you: it tastes exactly like raw chicken smells. It was awful lol. The horse sashimi actually had flavor to it, but chicken sashimi was not for me

I can see where they're coming from in terms of security, but that sounds a bit harsh.
At least where I work, we're told basically "use it if you want, just be prepared for it to be wrong and double check everything it tells you" which sounds a little more reasonable IMO
Wow that's a very protective stance to take! Good reason though. There's probably enough people out there actually copy + pasting the code that gets spit-out to have to worry about that. I try to only use ChatGPT to figure out syntax or get a high-level understanding of an approach to doing something, without having to scour the web for documentation.
Thirty-five patrol officers with the Edmonton Police Service have been selected for the six-month pilot project after the province announced earlier this year that their use would become mandatory for Alberta police.
I tried looking around for a changelog but I couldn't find one anywhere (let me know if you know where it is, I know you can look at the commits/merged PRs on Codeberg but there's a lot to dig through)....
