I can see many articles from other instances that end up in m/random instead of the actual magazine they were posted in. Why is this so? It's pretty annoying to be unable to view, subscribe to, or block those magazines.

Problem is, just because nobody wants to spend time with them because they're socially impaired, doesn't actually make them more accepting and / or willing to spend time with each other.
It's an educated guess. Remember that they're lonely and isolated because they literally don't have the ability to socialise well (with exceptions, of course). Putting them together wouldn't remove the barrier, the barrier is just twice as high instead.

Isn't this standard for anywhere that doesn't want to end up as T_D or 4chan?
I think the problem is that at the moment, the system is new enough that there's no way to get this sort of content removed. Hence this front page post. It's not about calling attention to the magazine, it's about calling attention to the entire issue..
Has anyone read The Wandering Inn? I keep reading good things but I've never read a web serial and the length seems daunting. If I commit to this series I feel like I won't be able to read anything else for years....
It's amazing, and the quality keeps climbing as the author gains experience. It did take me about 2-3 months to catch up to the current though, so there's that. What I particularly enjoy is having something high quality and new to read every week. It's like catching up regularly with old friends. And given the diverse cast, there's something for everyone.
I was able to download some textbooks a while back but they never stayed permanent and I guess had some sort of DRM that made them expire after 14 days....
