N628TS (Elon’s main jet) is at Fort Worth Alliance Airport back in maintenance with Gulfstream. Just days after it was with Gulfstream Service in Appleton, WI for several months.
Would you be willing to use your government-issued ID, either directly to social media or other websites, or to "third-party ID age verification services", to begin or continue accessing these sites, as now contemplated by multiple states or already in their existing laws currently in litigation?
I should add that there is bipartisan federal legislation well along and close to being enacted along these same lines. Of course it will also be litigated. It also is not terribly clear how this Supreme Court will handle these cases.
@DemocracySpot the cicadas hummed in the distance. Their calls echoing through the screen door faintly to add their voices to the summer sounds.
Glancing up at the ceiling, I watch the fan lazily stir the evenings heat. The night air is hot and dry against my skin, but the fan helps. The summer heat isn't quite here yet, but when the heat stays this long into the evening, it's not far now.
The evening is quiet this late into the night. The days work is over, and long have the families on my street retired for the evening. The late hours being out the night noises, the memory of the day swirling and crawling into the night sky like some serpent seeking it's prey. The monsters have not yet awoken, but are no longer entirely dormant in these hours...
If you had told my 10-year-old Blind girl self that in 30 years i’d be taking pictures of a touchscreen with another touchscreen to find out from a conversational AI down on land how much longer the flight is; and that this is somehow easier than making the airline fix their website so i can read the damn time for myself; she would have been mad, but maybe not entirely surprised
I've been trying to google/amazon this and having basically no results, so I'm asking here in case anyone knows:
I need graph paper. Specifically I need LARGE graph paper. Like, not an A4 sheet, I need A1-A0 (24/33" or 33x46").
4x4 per inch, or 5x5 per inch grid spaces. I basically need a graph paper with a TON of squares, and I'm not finding it.
@foone does it absolutely have to be one contiguous sheet, or could it be made up from individual tiles of smaller ones? Is this for some kind of planning purpose or do they need to be seamless for aesthetics? Thinking of the approach I took with my 3d printed pixels, I'd probably experiment with printing a ton of gridded pages in A4 while heading to the shops for foamboard and a decent guillotine - that way you could also precisely set/control the size of each square.
A simple core thesis for a lot of my work might be "our beliefs about things really matter for the world we create and they aren't as fixed as we think they are"
The author’s argument boils down to “humanity’s power is entirely built on our knack for the intersubjective” and that this is the most useful lens for understanding history
@ZachWeinersmith There are non-stupid alternatives to Reddit, notably Lemmy. I'm aware that you're promoting your webcomic by posting to popular services, but you're also influential and can to some extent influence which services are popular. This is what science nerds like us call "the observer effect".
