Ironically, Discord's own internal name for them ("Guilds") is actually pretty good, so sad they didn't use it in the UI.

@rail The correct name would be "Instances" since those ain't dedicaded servers but a mere instance used by a tennant and administrated only in very limited ways compared to a real server...

Wordpress advertises that you can customize the look of email newsletters, but I couldn’t find settings for that — so I wrote support. They replied and said actually, no, there are no settings for that.

But first, their AI Support Bot took a crack at an answer — and absolutely, confidently hallucinated two settings that don’t actually exist. I thought I was losing my mind because they just weren’t there.

That feels worse than just not replying at all, right?

Support tells me, “Wordpress does not provide direct settings” to change these options.

Today, 15 years ago the person or group with the fictive name of “Satoshi Nakamoto” created the first cryptocurrency named Bitcoin with the thought of it becoming a secure and fast alternative to fiat currency.

Now it's known as the most wasteful use of electricity, inefficient and limiting capability/functionality, as well as being among the most insecure and de-anonymizing ways to transfer money.

However, what Satoshi Nakamoto probably hasn't expected is how many scam-currencies would come after theirs, and how their invention would create a new breed of the most annoying people known to our species: crypto-bros.

The only non- is :monero: because unlike Bitcoin the people behind that actually work towards making it an actually working payment system, resulting in payment fees being lower than on "traditional " by a magnitude of 10 even in the worst conditions...

@dsfgs @jonas @ErikUden :bitcoin: is just bad and there is no legitimate reason to use it instead if :monero: when Bitcoin has no redeeming qualities and is so slow and expensive that taking a cab to an ATM, widthdraw cash, taking a cab back and paying this way is not only cheaper but faster.

Meanehile Monero doesn't need Sidechain-BS & Hacks like "Lightning Network" because it's meant to be used as payment system and not a tax & sanctions abvoidance scheme for oligarchs.

You can see that :bitcoin: doesn't scale by the sheer fact that it's glacial transaction times make it utterly useless as a means of payment.

That's why noone except and committing and use it.

Bitcoin's liquidity is nonexistant and it's value is solely based upon rich assholes hoarding it and buying it for more than it's worth, which should be 0!

Without "kicking down" and scaring people shit wouldn't work.

The affluent wageworkers get scared of those that barely make ends meet, and those get scared if getting unemployed and those get scared of the homeless...

We don't need forced labour or slavery when the need to do wagework is a matter of survival by deprivation of human rights if one isn't exploitable or rejects said system.

Capitalism is just "Neofeudalism light"...

I’m watching Mr Bates vs The Post Office.

I remember reading about this when hundreds of people took took the post office to court. The more I read about it, the angrier I got. Now I’m watching the dramatisation of how it impacted people’s lives and I’m even angrier.
