I unpacked it and now I am looking though the included files. I don't know too much about the structure of Android apps but there is a ton of insight into what its final form will look like just be exploring the contents...
As more and more instances are providing multiple services under the same management, we need a term to talk about this type of arrangement. A Fediverse Galaxy is a collection of federated software that is provided by the same admin or collective.
If you have notes in Evernote it might be a good time to make sure they are safely backed up! Evernote looks to have fired almost all its employees. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=36609641
An important distinction is slowly being uncovered about the definition of the term "fediverse." Who is it that gets to decide what this place is? How are we being represented? These are not easy questions to answer and if we don't do a better job describing ourselves, then the job will get done for us by people who don't understand the underlying values we hold. #fediverse#meta#threads
Meta/Threads/Facebook/Instagram has made their own symbol for the fediverse, so we better have a good argument for why this is not representative of us because we are quickly gonna see a lot of this icon...
Is there anyone working on generalizing the Mastodon API, or documentation to follow for apps that are using it for things other then Mastodon? #fedidev#mastodev#mastodonapi#APIdev
Meta (owner of Facebook, Instagram & WhatsApp) is joining the fediverse very soon and we have to seriously prepare. This isn't a theoretical scenario anymore.
Kitsune is a new project that has joined the fediverse recently. It's mostly written in Rust and intends on Mastodon API compatibility so it can use the existing app ecosystem. It also just got initial support for viewing full PeerTube and Lemmy posts!

Hello new people joining the #Mastodon and #Lemmy sides of the #Fediverse! How did you find yourself here? What was the specific point that lead you to make the jump?
Sitting in a cafe in #Casablanca, #Morocco this late morning. Most places are not on Google Maps so I thought to check and see, and yes, it is not listed. So I added it to @openstreetmap via @organicmaps.
A request for help from Mastodon instance admins! Lemmy posts are no longer searchable from Mastodon and the Lemmy devs are looking for why.
"It would be good if an admin of a Mastodon or Hubzilla instance could check the server logs at the time of fetching a Lemmy object, and see what kind of error is being logged. There have been some changes to federation, but I cant think of anything that would cause this type of breakage." - @nutomic
I really want more organization and structure to my life and I haven't found any methods that seem to work for me. I want to write more but get so utterly distracted by a million other things the second I see a screen that I end up just reading or researching some random topic instead of writing about things that I already know
I wanted to restart doing thingaday and its almost 12am and was like oh no I need to start something and then I realized I just filed 3 #fediverse bug reports and that totally counts as things!
I am giving a 15 minute introduction to the fediverse tonight at a küfa dinner party at https://offline.place
Trying to synopsize the fediverse in 15 minutes feels quite daunting. What have your techniques been for going over the most important bits with new people?
"I have finished preparing my design documents for this feature. See here for the reasoning behind adding ActivityPub to Gitlab and an overview of the implementation path, and here more specifically for this current issue, with more detailed specifications.
I now feel confident enough to get starting implementing this into Gitlab. I'm going to add the activities iteratively, there is quite some distance to cover up." -Kik
US coin change is really strange, the bank that I have will not take it unless its wrapped in paper, so I have now spent the last few hours counting pennies and putting them in these paper sleeves. I deposited 95$ of change yesterday and they gave me a big pile of new paper tubes which I am guessing they are mandated to give out for free.
catching up on the little reddit to lemmy migration thats happening and so cool to see all sorts of people joining the fediverse not even realizing it. that they can be followed and interacted with by the whole fediverse and not just lemmy is the most striking part of this situation though this is like a side note or added feature in a list of "reddit alternatives"
logging into things has become such a nightmare, why oh why did we popularize the notion that you need 2 computers to login to something? this is the extent that the capitalist mind worm has burrowed deep enough into programmers subconscious
