Je vote non (et je zut l'académie française au passage parce que ça ne coûte rien et ça fait du bien)

Par contre, je vote pour l'appeler une "temise".
Le sweat-shirt pourrait lui être renommé "sueurmise" (mais qui sera prononcé à l'oral "semise") ou, si doté d'une capuche, un "capull" ou, pour les puristes, un "capuchandail"...

  • je peux dormir à quasi n'importe quel moment de la journée et ds n'importe quel lieu s'il y a un matelas ou un canap
  • je sais faire ou apprendre à peu près n'importe quelle tâche quasiment bien très souvent bien
  • je connais la quantité exacte de bonbons et de chocolats dans une habitation sauf s'ils sont ds les chambres

tip for people with friends that have anxiety:

never, ever, EVER, text them random vague things like "so" or "i have bad news" or "we need to talk" and then immediately disappear for several minutes without responding, that is seriously dangerous and extremely irresponsible

If I may add, from my personal xp, it also applies to leaving voicemail. A short message of "hi, it's <person>, please call me back ASAP" is garanteed to cause anxiety spikes. Just summarize the reason for the call, or add something to the lines of "all is well".
(Even better, send this as a text! Faster, less stressful)

If calling several times an anxious person several times, please also leave a message/sms to let them know why, better than letting them assume the worst.

Extinction des lampadaires à ce soir, dans le cadre du Mois de la Nuit !

La déception est là, les autres sources de lumière sont suffisantes pour me balader dans mon quartier sans avoir besoin d'une torche (habitations, magasins, immeubles de bureaux, enseignes, phares de voitures...). Pour en profiter au mieux, il vaut probablement mieux se rendre dans un parc ! (Mais là 🥶 donc retour mézon)

A study on from 2020 is now peer-reviewed and published. The study gave $7500 cash to homeless people in Vancouver and compared their outcome versus a control group. The result was clear:

“The recipients of the cash transfers did not increase spending on drugs, tobacco, and alcohol, but did increase spending on food, clothes, and rent, according to self-reports. What’s more, they moved into stable housing faster and saved enough money to maintain financial security over the year of follow-up.”

Further, each person who moved into stable housing one year faster saves the city over $8000 per year, which makes this program cheaper than existing housing programs.

Universal Basic Income works. It sounds so obvious when you say it out loud, but: giving people cash lifts them out of poverty. We need to do that more.

Yes, the limitations on the participants pool are explained in the article.

They're taking an incremental approach and plan to do further studies with more diverse pools.

Note, the study did show a result on what it was conceived to study:

Reading this thread peeves me as if, bear with me the analogy got out of hand, we were still in the old times when scurvy was not understood, if there was a study done that showed that giving citruses to sailor actually seemed to prevent scurvy, and someone commented on the study by saying that it is worthless because it did not show that citruses is the panacea to all sickness and ailments.

But nobody said citruses were the panacea, not event the study authors.
