Today, we said goodbye to our good friend and the best dog we’ve ever had, Charlie Brown. He fought a long battle with cancer, and finally, it was too much pain for him to continue.

Now, he’s gone. No one else in the world will know the love and loyalty Charlie gave us. That was for us alone. We will never forget him.

@Skoop I’ve been skeptical of this project because of him ripping off the name of an already popular tool since I first saw it posted on the PHP subreddit last year. I’ve avoided it like the plague, and now that I see he has also ripped off famous brand logos, that confirms my hunch and firmly puts him on my blacklist. I’m also disappointed in for allowing him to host a presentation about it.

If you’re okay touching electrical, updating a ceiling fan is a pretty easy project it turns out. Serious upgrade to the room’s looks.

Electrical is on par with replacing a light switch or outlet.

In case folks are wondering, phpc.social hasn't been hit as badly with spam as other/larger instances have been, but as a point of comparison we have 6 pages of reports in our instance, total, and ~3.5 of them are from this spam attack...so far.

@grmpyprogrammer @josh I second the recommendation for Lutron Caséta switches. I use them with dimmable Phillips LED bulbs (the only ones that I could find that didn’t flicker). I also have the fan controller for the ceiling fan in my living room, which is awesome.

Hello friends — mini-me was forgetful and took her anti-seizure medication too late and she just had a very long and powerful epileptic seizure. She is awake and confused and on the way to the hospital.

Please make sure your loved ones take their medication on time as directed by their doctors even if they yell at you to leave them alone.

@grmpyprogrammer Best wishes for her. I’m fairly certain not taking medication is what lead to the heart attack that killed my father after his heart surgery.

@grmpyprogrammer I have the same problem with my BRZ. It started happening a couple of years after I bought it and Subaru said that the whole steering wheel needed to be replaced. They refused to cover it under warranty and quoted me $500-$1000. I’ve just had to live with it since I didn’t want to pay for the repair.

Today, I was cut in layoffs. I’m so gutted because I loved this company, & my team was the best; I’ll miss my team most.

Now, as I look ahead, I’m searching for a staff/principal role where I can help other developers level-up through mentoring, tooling/infra, architecture, & improving DX. I’d love to work with a company contributing to open source & even to the programming language itself.
