@ap236@ontariogreens@onpoli unfortunate that this does nothing to reduce the uninsured and unlicensed drivers on the roads. Nor does it fix the longstanding problem of having to identify the driver of a car for tickets and non-criminal driving violations, instead of just sending them to the registered owner, like they do for parking & speed, red light cameras.

@dan613@ap236@ontariogreens@onpoli the only acceptable vote would be between two equally effective climate policies. Like a carbon tax vs straight up capping emissions and huge fines for exceeding them along with the regime to oversee that.
@ap236@onpoli The police (and the right they are allied with) know many, if not most of the public will feel the victim "had it coming" and are fine with this kind of police action as a summary punishment. So they aren't too worried about doing anything more than paying lip service to rights and freedoms. #onpoli

Corruption is not easily shucked. Kind of like a virus caused disease, like COVID.
Too soo we forget about corruption infested rightwing politics. The boom and bust cycles of the economy might be more related to short memories than anything else.

Maybe the easier way to abolish the police is to create enough stigma around the job that eventually people stop going to police college and applying for these jobs anymore.

A good time to remind ourselves what an abominable financial catastrophe the 407 was and is for the Ontario taxpayer. We can thank(?) a previous Conservative government for that.

@ap236@ontariogreens@onpoli I am skeptical about her. Honestly I would have preferred Ted Hsu...for one thing he has a seat in the legislature, meaning it's harder to shut him up as it was del Duca who didn't. Reaction from NDP and PCs was interesting. PCs on the attack and NDP striking conciliatory tone. PC suburban ridings under threat, downtown NDP ridings less so.
