I've been having weird first layer issues for months. My z offset seemed all over the place and I found myself manually adjusting each print. Had no clue what the issue was until I noticed my bltouch wasn't perfectly straight. Turns out the mounting screws had loosened slightly leaving ~1/2mm play in its location compared to the...
Hey all! Super excited to see a lot of my favorite content showing up on Lemmy. I noticed that r/elegoosaturn has gone completely private on Reddit. Any chance it made it over here?

The large bolts are 1/2in (eq ~12mm), the smaller are M8. The lower section is expandable. There is a space between the low and mid sections that clamps the metal sheet and (mostly) prevents it from folding due to stresses from dies. There is an X beam support somewhere around here that is supposed to go on top to prevent...
What is the groups focus? I moved to Resin a couple of years ago and my filament printer is in the closet gather dust... but I might break it out one day.
Was using the bottle that came with my Creality Halot One, it was flesh colored. Tried a test with the basic AnyCubic. Came out better than the Creality by far....
While I'm waiting for more nozzles to arrive in the mail, I'd thought I'd ask the new community here for their thoughts on my issue with the Swiss Micro All-Metal hot-end. Since upgrading to it, I haven't noticed a remarkable difference between it and the stock one in terms of nozzle wear and clogs. I've reassembled it, I...
like the title says i have an ender 5 pro and the bed is being weird. when i autohome it it works fine. but when i print the bed just stays at the top of the travel on the z axis for about the first 5-7 layers and then it will drop by over half a turn on the z stepper motor. leading to a large gap that cant be printed on. im...
Just another older project. IIRC it is a Yagi based on a thingiverse project that was based on an antenna designed by the YouTuber Andrew McNeil. I modified everything about the design and integrated the enclosure and stand. It works well enough to get a signal from my driveway when I used to have trouble just within the house.
If you didn't already know of it, filamentcolors.xyz is a website that collects swatches of 3d printing filaments to help people choose colors. They prints swatches of filaments colors, analyse their spectral contents, and create approximate hex values (among other things)....
I've used this phone stand for a while but decided to reprint it in some new prusament PC blend carbon fiber I picked up recently. It prints beautifully and is incredibly rigid! My old ones printed in PLA and ASA feel like noodles in comparison....
I like the thermal mass of glass for temperature stability, as I've found that's pretty key to getting good print adhesion. But I really wanted to try out PEI without having to stick a giant magnet directly to my heater plate, something I definitely did not trust....
