dubbel, to opensource in NLnet; Radically Open Security Donates 1 Million Euro to NLnet

This sounds pretty awesome tbh. Will check out the two books mentioned.

If Taler gives info law enforcement without a warrant then it isn’t really private.

I remember hearing that Lemmy’s NLnet funding was going to run out soon.

Does this mean the Lemmy devs could potentially reapply for additional funding, or is this only for “new projects”?

Demigodrick,

It has

Or do you have an existing project that requires additional effort to enable further development?

So I assume the Lemmy devs should be good to reapply.

We applied for funding last August, but unfortunately we are still waiting for it to be finalized. Seems like NLnet is quite overloaded these days.

Ok thanks for the info. Fingers crossed 🤞

Die4Ever, (edited ) to lemmy in NLnet; Lemmy private communities - progress/roadmap?

I think it’s part of this github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/187

Also local only communities, since this isn’t really possible with remote communities anyways github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/1576

Yeah that’d be a great feature to have. Private communities + invite join links + likely not federated

I actually found some related issues, but I will need to go back and copy paste them here.

Not directly related, but worthy to read through in the context of the question.

amminadabz, to opensource in NLnet; RISC-V Phone

tl;dr?

burgersc12,

The project is to develop a simple, fully featured and privacy enhanced mobile phone. It is built using off-the-shelf inexpensive components which are easy to assemble even in a home lab. The software for it is small, simple and easy to audit.

Pope89,

https://nlnet.nl/project/RISC-V-Phone/ I think he wanted to post this.
