Without a doubt, the BEST #Godzilla movie I've ever seen and will (?) ever see!
What a wild ride...never seen a $15 million budget used so well. The best effect work I've seen in ages.
And this film WILL make you FEAR Godzilla! Never before has he been depicted as such a force of nature. You actually care more for the humans this time around.
@Ductos
Even better than Shin Godzilla?
Really loved that one and I thought he was incredibly menacing.
Enjoyed the story as well, despite realising that the whole political thing might not have resonated as much with most in the west, like it did in Japan itself after the Fukushima disaster.
I hope to see it soon.
Haven't been up to watching a 3 hours film these past couple of weeks, but I really want to see this one.
#Godzilla says PROTECT #TRANS KIDS!!!🏳️⚧️
All day. Every day. And twice on Sundays.
And anyone who thinks there is no such thing as trans kids really needs to pay closer attention. They're here, and they need our support.
Okay, #Godzilla fans... should you wait to watch #GodzillaxKong until AFTER S02 of #MonarchLegacy comes out? People tell me I need to see Monarch: Legacy of Monsters first, but should I wait to see Godzilla x Kong till after?
Stupid question, I know but they're seriously telling me to wait!
@peteyjlawson Thanks! I actually did enjoy Godzilla 2014... it was SO WEIRD to see Elizabeth Olsen so long before her stint as Scarlet Witch in Marvel! I kept screaming at the screen, just HEX THEM already, Wanda! 😂
ps: It really cost me a LOT to ignore all the plot holes in this movie...but I did my best to enjoy it. Godzilla without plot holes is just impossible!
This was a great way to bridge the Godzilla to GodzillaKing/GodzillaVS/GodzillaX!
BTW: The entire trudge with the four of them carrying the “bait”? I don’t get it! How could Kei move it so far to her camp being only one person, but the four of them were having so many issues moving it back? 😳
I love cheesy monster movies and will happily have a beer and watch #Godzilla smash up cities for a couple hours.
The bar is pretty low for what I think is worth my time, but the newest Godzilla + King Kong movie is unbelievably bad. Embarrassingly bad.
I can suspend disbelief for a while and accept nuclear dinosaurs coming out of the ocean and causing a ruckus. I can even suspend disbelief for a world where, like one of those creationist dinosaur theme parks, monkeys and dinosaurs exist simultaneously and spend a couple of hours beating each other up.
But giant monkeys and nuclear dinosaurs beating each other up then teaming up to protect magical telepathic humans who live in the center of the Earth, which somehow has sunshine, from malevolent giant monkeys who also live in the center of the Earth next to a volcano is... IDK, stupid?
Was this supposed to be a comedy? Did I miss something? But, hey, the scientist/main character is really fucking hot, so there's that I guess?
I saw #GodzillaXKongTheNewEmpire last night, and I definitely had mixed feelings about it, especially given how much I love Godzilla Minus One. Late into the movie, I had a thought-shift in understanding that they're very different things. Godzilla Minus One is very much more of a psychological film delving into the trauma of having been on the receiving end of nuclear bombs. #Godzilla#KingKong#GodzillaXKong /1
In this movie, again, there's definitely more of a sympathetic and purposeful story arc for Kong than there is for Godzilla. We're made to understand and connect with Kong but Godzilla is always presented as "other".
So I hadn't really paid attention to the title of the movie, but I kept hearing people say Godzilla "ex" Kong because of the "x" in the title. /4
In looking at it today, I think they mean for it to be Godzilla "times" Kong, like a math equation, where the two of them together makes them exponentially more powerful. #Godzilla#KingKong#GodzillaXKong#GodzillaXKongTheNewEmpire /5 end
@DanielTuttle 🤣🤣 yeah, that glove is so odd, I suppose I will find out its story when I see this on the 4th hahaha. The 4th is my bday and wifey agreed to see it with me - VERY much not her thing. But its IMAX, it's gonna be at least visually pretty nuts. I haven't even seen one in theaters despite being a big fan - I see em all at home haha
