It's the middle of May in the Netherlands, and we've had a week of hot and sticky summer weather already, with another to come 😬

When we got a portable AC in 2018(?), it was for the one-off summer heat waves that were bad enough give me (and my chronic illness) heat exhaustion after a couple days, despite our good insulation.

Then it was a few times per year. And then it was several 2-3 day stretches per month in July and August. And now it's starting in frigging MAY.

@me_valentijn @HumToTable We went from using our A/C once a year when we first moved into this house, to several times a year, to two weeks or so a year, to continuous in the last couple of years in summer--and at least a few times last winter (not this year... yet). And that's with a massive insulation and weatherization overhaul I had embarked on in the last five years.
