Ready for a that will scare the living shit out of you?

Here goes.

Ink in the blogosphere is beginning to spread about the proposed bridgehead on the Mediterranean coast of .

Some are saying it’s a distraction to appease while Biden continues to provide arms and cover. Some, that the intention is to actually benefit the by providing a place to evacuate . Some go so far as to claim it’s intended as the terminus of the dream.

My take? These theories fail to understand the genius leaders in the U.S. are capable.

@LeftistLawyer If the US wanted to invade the Middle East they have plenty of capability to do so. I promise you the USA can force an amphibious landing anywhere.

The only reasonable read here is that it's exactly what it looks like: Biden is unwilling to do anything to control Israel because of AIPAC and similar orgs, and yet faces pressure to not let Gaza be exterminated, so he's come up with this hare-brained scheme to do something while not doing anything.

@LeftistLawyer Hi. The sanctions have noticeably hurt russian economy, including military funding, to the point of conscripted soldiers being required to buy their own basic items, even first aid. Moreover, by calling it a “proxy” war you are denying a long history of colonial violence russia had inflicted upon Ukraine and the culmination of that violence into the 2022 full-blown invasion. Not everything is about the US all the time. Sincerely, a russian person.

@LeftistLawyer As a minor addition, the “proxy” claim also plays into Putin and his administration’s narrative that they aren’t actually in war with Ukraine but simply defending from the US and other western forces that are threatening russia’s existence. We know the invasion is absolutely land-motivated, as evident in the occupation of Crimea.

@LeftistLawyer it's in the wrong place for invading anything useful that isn't already a nominal ally. If anything it exists to put SeaBees under the guns of the IDF.

The relevant historical comparison would be the USS Liberty and the various independent aid ships that have been turned back from landing at ports in Gaza.

If you want a theory; it exists to create an incident which will allow Biden to put some daylight between the US and Israel.

There's an added element you perhaps have not considered. Republicans are, I agree, crazy enough to think they can control the whole middle east and may think they must. While the peons say drill baby drill, the elites know the low quailty of fracked oil makes it pretty useless for running an empire. They may think they can control all Muslims by essentially holding Mecca and Medina hostage, if the alliances the trump family have worked out don't hold up or don't accomplish what they want. Not necessarily physically - after all, they can just call up the House of Saud and say, "We want control of your oil reserves. Either you turn Aramco over to us or Medina becomes a pile of radioactive ash. And one hour later, well, shame if anything happened to Mecca, right?" Something like that could be one reason they support trump. He's insane, and suggestable. And he's itching to use nukes on somebody to prove he's at the big table. He would do it, unlike a sane person.

@LeftistLawyer Only willfully-insane people could convince themselves that Russia and China would sit idly by as this happened. (Which is NOT to say I think this means they wouldn't.)

@LeftistLawyer Interesting thought, but I think it may be a feint.
Yemen is key to disemboweling the fundamentalists...at the present time. A large force on the ground would give us access to the whole peninsula.
Humanitarian aid on the Lavant would deflect criticism by the non-fundamentalist.
Let us not forget, there is a large frenemy fundamentalist state that is running out of oil but all of the oil states listen to.

I mean, that's what Israel itself has been from the start, hasn't it? That beach head. It's basically a military outpost with a pool.
