I designed this piece in Rhinoceros and laser cut it out of 1/8" plywood. It measures about 36" x 24". It's called Reef #1 (I expect there will be more reef designs).
Genuine question: Could I get a job where I primarily design lasercutting vectors? A good job, decent pay, stable, maybe remote, all that.
I'm wicked good at it with almost a decade experience. I just hadn't considered it as a primary vocation somehow. Probably because I don't have and didn't intentionally pursue a graphic design degree.
More context is I'm a hardware hacker and electronics PM.
Sag mal Mastodon, weiß jemand da draußen ob man Plexiglas zur Abschirmung von grünem Laser verwenden kann? Ich hab da so eine Erweiterung für meinen Ender, aber keinen separaten Raum. #3ddruck#lasercutting
Excited to share this stunning laser engraved whisky cask end! 🥃 Each detail meticulously etched into this piece of history. Perfect for any whisky lover or collector.
The only real downside to the "cheaper" laser peckers is that it's proprietary software & the phone app requires you to log in to their servers. So, if/when they stop updating the software / servers we're screwed.
Don't get the LP1. it's a toy.
Don't get the LP2. It's fine, but the base of the LP3 and LP4 with their "positioning plate" make it 100% worth the extra.
The 3 also has a hole in the bottom which lets you easily do tall things (that fit).
🤔 I'd prolly go for the 4 with the extended work area, but you can always just make your own "extended work area" to put things on. But i'd have to ponder.
Anyway, the Laser Peckers are very good entry level devices.
I cleaned the #k40#laser and #lasercut#disenchantment Lucy for #halloween and placed him inside our "new" outdoor light (vintage 1965 lantern with a DIY bracket and wired up for mains supply instead of a petroleum lantern).
