#Firefox + uBlock Origin will blow you away with speed and low memory/cpu use, if you're currently used to Chrome. They really stepped up the performance a few years ago with a mostly-new rendering engine, but they were already a distant afterthought by then. Most people didn't know there was anything but Chrome (and relatives) available.
@jerry I use both Firefox and Brave. The experience of using both of them for years has been completely different. Out of the box, Firefox does very little to keep you safe. There's no hand holding and a lot of obvious features come to you in the form of plugins. Containers are nice on paper.. but are very janky when used. There are no profiles.
On the other hand, there's Brave. It does most of the work for you. Turn on brave shield, install ublock and dark reader, that's it. You're good to go.
There's also the problem of certain websites actively messing up your experience if you're on Firefox. :blobcatgooglyshrug:
@jerry Oh, btw, fwiw, a nice fork [has some great extra bells & whistles] is #Floorp :floorp: for pooters [afaik, not yet available for phones, though tbh as i don't care about that i've not explicitly checked]. Using it right now to type at you on my #ArchLinux pc; changed to it from #FirefoxNightly :firefox_nightly: a couple of months back.
