(I can't tell from driving past if the reasons suggested, noise and shadow flicker are 1. genuine, 2. exaggerated, or 3. purely spurious. But in my long observation of these things it's 2 or 3 in the vast majority of cases. If 3, usually either ideologically opposed, or hoping for a payout)

Elsewhere I see roadside signs opposing solar farms (!) and in the Kiewa Valley, opposing a big grid-connected battery.

This is on the north-western outskirts of Melbourne. I don't know what project it is responding to or the arguments behind it, but anti-solar farm campains are mostly either suffering from terminal NIMBYism or ideologically driven. Often both.
