And I don't think I'm out of line thinking this makes sense. Safari is the only mainstream browser I know of that doesn't put the "new tab" button spatially where that new tab will go.
Back on this pet peeve…I'm not the first person to think the new tab button should go spatially where the new tab goes in Safari…Apple thought this as well and had it there for many years 😝
