In 2016 I got really into the NBA and paid for NBA streaming video and watched it all on my Apple TV. I stopped paying the next season and watched less and less. I usually just watch the finals and all-star games now.

Today, my Apple TV dutifully alerts every TV in the house, my phone, and my watch whenever there's a close NBA game about to end (which is just about nightly), with no discernible way to turn it off 8 years after this information was useful to me.

@matt Vinegar is a savior for watching YouTube in Safari on iPad. The scrubber and full screen controls of the YouTube player border on unusable.

And I don't think I'm out of line thinking this makes sense. Safari is the only mainstream browser I know of that doesn't put the "new tab" button spatially where that new tab will go.

@_Davidsmith the name should probably tell me all I need to know, but does Pedometer++ include any cycling 🚴 tracking in the Other category? It’s the offline and live maps that are appealing, and there are so few apps that execute this well (let alone doing it in a nice way)

My FineWoven Magnetic Link watch band finally arrived (dark green).

It's not as nice as Apple's leather predecessor (left, navy), but looks and feels more premium than Alma's alcantara (right, orange). Hops (background, brown) is nicer than all three.

These bands are VERY comfortable and fashion-versatile, as long as you don't often get them wet. I've worn the leather ones a lot in the winter. The FineWoven seems like a successful replacement for day one — we'll see how they age.

Man, the shutter speed improvements in the new @halide update are really something else. I’d basically given up on getting shots of my toddler and I’m consistently getting great action shots every time. If the shutter speed ever put you off in the past, I highly recommend trying it again.
