Undoubtedly the saddest reminder that time moves on is deciding what to do with your parents old pics. The memories that meant EVERYTHING to them but nothing to their kids/grandkids are encapsulated in these hundreds/thousands of pictures/slides/reels. But at some point you have to get rid of some or all of them or leave them to the next generation who have even less of a connection to them.
But the feeling of trashing your parents lives in such a final way is heart breaking. An entire lifetime tossed out and decades of experiences good and bad, forgotten even by the people who love them the most. But it's not out of cruelty or disdain or even ambivalence it's just time moving on. You can't leave your memories behind for others no matter how good the cameras get. So make them for yourself. Revel in the ones you do make and be greedy about how many you make. They don't have to be good or bad just yours!
Or something like that😏
