@msquebanh I probably saw some in the old top bar hive when I cleaned it out after the last winter kill a few years ago. I seem to remember the pollen stores being very colorful. This is the first time noticing the bees bringing it in but a top entrance top bar hive isn't exactly a good viewing area combined with bees that were not that friendly occupying it.
@msquebanh The flowers are very small (despite what the photo has you thinking), but it's cool. It's too hot to grow in SoCal, but this nursery is more for SF Bay Area and PNW (if you feel okay growing introduced plants).
@glightly@msquebanh I've only had luck looking up specific things that are around and seeing a few microscopic photos of the pollen grains that show the purple-ish color. That's vinca minor, grape hyacinth, and some poplars. I too haven't had any luck with any of the pollen color charts showing anything in this color range.
