@Edelruth@dkiesow I cancelled my NYT after decades. Now the WAPO is starting on the same path. I gave my monthly NYT cost to ActBlue. I may do the same with WAPO.
@dkiesow "Here's why a strong economy, educated people, affordable housing and healthcare, and affordable education are bad for our owners. I MEAN bad for Biden."
@aires@dkiesow I'm not going to read the op-ed, but one criticism could be that a "strong economy" is not leading to affordable housing, education, and health care for a wide swath of the country
But I feel to the "average American", the economy improving would mean wages going up relative to the cost of living. If your income is the same but costs are all going up, things are getting worse. If inflation is down, they're just getting worse slower.
So hearing a politician boasting about the economy being great in such a case seems a bit out of touch.
@peterbutler@aires@dkiesow (Of course the president doesn't have some kind of absolute control over the economy. And Trump would be boasting that the economy is the greatest ever under record inflation and unemployment.)
@dkiesow. On mornings like this and with headlines like this, I'm glad I canceled my #WashingtonPost subscription. It's coverage like this that lays the foundation for #disinformation, which MAGA outlets then blast to the base.
