I'm starting to kind of like <map> and <area> again. Like, you could make links that were not box-shaped! That's pretty cool.

@heydon takes me back but yep back in the GeoCities days I had nice websites with <frame> and <map> and <area> navigation - one was a Deep Space 9 fan page and you could click on different parts of it to go navigate.

These days you have to more to achieve the same with CSS

@tanepiper Nice! It was a great way to get around things like border-radius and web fonts (!) not existing.

@heydon @tanepiper Oh man, I remember adding left, left-top, top, right-top, and right border elements with a sliced background image each in order to achieve the rounded border effect while still maintaining both horizontal and vertical scalability.
