Unsurprisingly, it seems raising the price of tobacco incentivises more people to give up smoking.
Given claims about the uneven effectiveness of 'sin taxes', this looks like further evidence that doubts should be discounted.
Rather, we should ignore bleating from the sectors involved & be clear about how engineering market prices (though taxation) can play a central & important role in pubic health.
Its hardly news but needs to be restated (again!).
