It's weird when Christians like Jim Olsen say "spare the rod, spoil the child when trying to justify corporal punishment of children and claim it's from the Bible.

The actual phrase from the King James Bible, Proverbs, 13:24 it actually states: “He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.”

The rod isn't for beating though. It's for guidance. Like that of a Shepherd. He guides the sheep with the rod. He doesn't hit them with with it.

@Carnivius oh they adore misreading the bible. I'm hardly a fan of the book in general, but if they didn't omit the majority of the New Testament they'd be a lot less shitty.

Particularly weird since...as CHRISTians, they're supposed to be considering that by far more important. There's already a religion if you only want the Torah
