Ok so for ages I thought my PC just wouldn't boot into it's BIOS. That somehow I'd broken something.

Turns out it was booting just fine... but displaying it to the TV (which wasn't even switched on) which is connected to my PC via HDMI. Which apparently has greater 'boot priority' over either monitor which are connected via DisplayPort.

And from googling, there doesn't seem to be anyway to change this behaviour other than "unplug the TV from the PC" which is a bit annoying.

@SirTapTap I thinking of the main comics especially during Civil War when Spidey was on Iron Man's side (at least at first).

After Civil War he was even part of the main Avengers team and the New Avengers, at the same time.

And a while later, when Stark had to leave, Peter was a CEO of his own company and became the new source of money for the Avengers too.

These things don't tend to last forever cos most folk prefer 'down on his luck' Peter and solo Spidey. :)

@actuallyautistic Does anybody else here find that when they’re in a new place—a store, someone’s house, wherever—that they have an urge to walk all throughout the place and see where everything is?

I never thought about it before, but today I wondered if it’s because I unconsciously want to see all the distractions and novelties so they don’t, you know, distract me from what I’m supposed to be doing the rest of the time that I’m there. Just a little self-management.

It's weird when Christians like Jim Olsen say "spare the rod, spoil the child when trying to justify corporal punishment of children and claim it's from the Bible.

The actual phrase from the King James Bible, Proverbs, 13:24 it actually states: “He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.”

The rod isn't for beating though. It's for guidance. Like that of a Shepherd. He guides the sheep with the rod. He doesn't hit them with with it.

I still need to see the Sonic and Mario movies but is definitely the best game-to-video conversion I've seen (always multimedia stuff like .hack doesn't count)

What else is good, I know TLOU is supposed to be good. Getting Paramount+ next month to catch up on Star Trek and I guess there's a knuckles show

@SirTapTap you didn't know Amazon Prime Video made some of their own shows? They've been doing it for a few years. The most notable and well known is probably 'The Boys'. 'Reacher' is popular too. They've had some success with animated shows like 'Invincible' and the recent 'Hazbin Hotel' too.

I haven't watched 'Fallout' mainly cos I'm really not a fan of the games. (Fallout 3 was my least fave game I ever bought for my PS3). :P

Eventually I settled with one of these crt shaders and i like that this one also has reflective bit around the screen area like a crt does too. so that's nice. So this is what I play with and I like the look and it don't feel laggy to me. But anyways, it's up to you. Have a good day. :D

I often see the "REMOVE YOUR BATTERIES" advice repeated but is that just for alkaline batteries, or should watch batteries/LI batteries be removed too?

In my experience watch batteries just die and I haven't yet had rechargable AA/AAAs expand but I've had a few spicy pillow 'standard' Li batteries so I removed the battery from my PSP. Most of my other old Li batteries are much harder to get to.

If you look at the Freedom Caucus and the Ukraine aide vote, you'll realize the US and Parliamentary systems really don't have much difference after all.

The "two party system" is not actually a system, not enshrined anywhere, has changed values a number of times, and really is quite obviously at this point a natural way democratic countries sort themselves out for better or worse.

I know YouTube Poop humor isn't quite for everyone, but if you don't get why I love it, one of the biggest things that sells any media to me is when I can clearly tell that the creator LOVED putting it together.

You see that in a lot of indie games, and a lot of non-commercial projects, and especially YTP, fan art, SFM etc stuff where people can just go hogwild and there's no attempt to hold back for copyright, business, etc.

There is a unique joy in something created simply for the pleasure.

The OLED version of my Big Bitch Monitor is on sale rn!!

Yes it's $1100 but if you can afford it and are a Gamer™ I really recommend this one. And I friggin' hate samsung. This is the one product of theirs I've used not ruined by their software though.

I fully intend to replace mine with a similar model, but it's only 4 years old and honestly games/GPUs have not fully caught up to ‎5120x1440 240hz yet anyway.

Jealous of the OLED tho.

Pratchett and Le Guin absolutely beat the crud out of Rowling's derivative wizard school (heck, even the name Harry Potter was used before her. In 1986 movie Troll. Which was also about magic & had Harry Potter Sr & Jr).
