The UCLA faculty is up in arms.

More than 200 have signed a letter harshly criticising the administration & making a series of demands, including that the police not be unleased on the student encampment & that no student be disciplined for exercising their right to free speech.

Faculty say if that is not adhered to by the administration, they will consider other measures including work stoppages.

I don't know about the US, but over here in the client state of Australia, 98% of complaints about police are investigated by... you guessed it... the police.

The independent body to investigate govt officials has only enough resources to deal with 2%...
