All those food issues I’ve increasingly suffered over the last 3-4 years now appear to be the result of a bowel blockage caused by surgical scar tissue that has formed since 2017.
I nearly waited too long to investigate & I am so grateful my surgeon pressured me to let him do surgery.
He operated laparoscopically and WAS DONE IN 45 MINUTES.
I lost 120 pounds trying to solve food-related issues, but if I had not, this quick surgery could not have been possible.
@snarkysteff@SRDas You have been a beacon for those on here who are health minded and working to resolve issues that relate to diet, exercise. My friend who is scheduled for surgery, also lost over 100 lbs trying to sort out the issue. Her surgery scar was from a C-Section. (I had always been suspicious). So bravo and good on you. Here’s to your healing, strengthening journey walking into the sunlight!
@snarkysteff@SRDas I wish I could say it was. It’s complex. But she will be in the hands of some of the top surgeons in the country, so, we’re all very hopeful.
@snarkysteff The other thing with frequent ailments is if you find yourself having repeated episodes of "food poisoning" have your gallbladder checked out.
I am counting my blessings today and feel like I’ve gotten a whole new life back.
And hey, losing 120 pounds trying to solve this shit is NOT time spent badly.
This will be the best summer I’ve had in years. (If we’re not smoked in by ridiculous fires.)

The prognosis is not the same for my roommate here, who came in with the same condition & now has a colostomy bag & a completely changed life for the worse.
