@whakkee Yep. Very much so in the southeast. When walking through a forested area you have to be very cautious. We try to keep our yard tidy so they don’t try to make a home here.
Our neighbor has killed two in his yard in the last two years.
I’ve found plenty of worm snakes in our yard. Luckily those are harmless.
@fahrni Eeek! Glad everyone is okay. I’m always mindful when I clean or move stuff around in our garage to watch for Black Widows. I’ve encountered them many times out there but you never get used to them. 😱
@gedeonm Black Widows have never bothered me, in fact, I think they’re gorgeous creatures. In California they were plentiful.
This particular type of snake is so aggressive. They’re extremely dangerous, but I’m sure you’re used to them having lived in the east your entire life.
