@randahl Hamas hides within the citizen body intentionally for headlines like this. Sounds like they’ve got a good number of terrorists, destroyed weapons caches found in schools there, and rocket launchers used to attack Israel. Perhaps the world should hold Hamas responsible and demand they surrender. This would be over.

Especially civilians and rescue facilities have to be protected weather someone is hiding there or not.
The killing of terrorists does not justify any mass killings against the rest of the population. Read the text for what is allowed in modern wars.
@allen099@randahl So if a gang of dangerous criminals hid in your house with your family still inside, or in your child’s school with your child and their friends still inside, it would be okay to level your house or your kids’ school, with your loved ones inside, to get the gang of dangerous criminals?
@MisuseCase@randahl Oh I agree, the entire situation is disastrous on all sides. War hurts many innocents. That is why if the world put pressure on the gang to quit ganging, this would be over without anymore needless deaths.
@allen099@randahl Hamas is illegal and under sanction by most of the world. It’s why they have to get money in cryptocurrency or other under-the-table ways.
I don’t know where you get the impression that a lot of the world supports Hamas or there is no pressure on it when neither of these things are true.
@allen099@randahl Oh, getting back to my original point, if an internationally sanctioned and illegal terrorist organization (like Hamas is) hid in your house and took your family hostage would it be acceptable for the army to level your house with your family inside to “put pressure” on the terrorist organization?

In war, it cannot be ruled out that civilians will also die, but you cannot bomb a neighbourhood because there are terrorists in the basement somewhere.
