Did you know...

That there was a Warheads Sour! Green Apple Soda? Neither did I until I found it at the Dollar Tree.

I mean, I just had to try it. I love gimmicky sodas, even if they end up tasting terrible. This one, though, was a big surprise.

I poured some out for myself and each of my kids. We all took a sip and, at once, recognize that it tasted like biting into a sweet, green apple. No sour taste or aftertaste. It just tasted like a sweet, green apple. Weirdly realistic flavor, even more so than a regular green apple candy.

Looking at the ingredients list, it had a all sorts of malic acid - so it SHOULD have been sour. But, to us - no sourness. Just sweetness. The kids really liked it. We may be looking for it again next Dollar Tree visit.

TL;DR - Warheads Sour! Green Apple Soda is better than it has any right to be, actually tasting like a green apple and not very sour. Would drink again.

It's springtime again and we've got two new Mountain Dew Baja variants for our drinking pleasure.

I mean, I had to try them both. I love me some Mountain Dew.

First, we tried Mountain Dew Baja Point Break Punch. Think of what would happen if you took Kool Aid Tropical Punch and transformed it into a Mountain Dew variant. That's what this tastes like. It's slightly bubble Tropical Punch. Personally, I liked it. So did all of my kids, which is good cause my wife also got us a case of the cans later.

The second is Baja Laguna Lemonade. It's a Dew infused mango lemonade flavor. You can definitely taste some of the mango with a classic Dew aftertaste. Personally, this was the one I liked better, but that's just me.

So, overall - I liked BOTH Baja variants this year, which is great!

How about you? Have you tried the two new Mountain Dew Baja variants?

Let me know your thoughts!

@LibrarianRA in the real world 1995 no man would have been caught drinking diet coke because the taste was terrible and men didn't care about the sugar content of real coke. diet coke was purely a women's drink, as it's marketed here.
When coca cola actually needed to convince men to sugar free soda many years later, they put a lot more money and research into getting the taste right and thus coke zero was born (two times) which has since pushed out diet coke almost completely.

@LibrarianRA This 7-up “Uncola” campaign had an incredible run of fantastic, and sometimes very noncommercial art, by lots of big names. https://flickr.com/photos/30559980@N07/sets/72157636886600686
