At first glance I thought the "15 cents" price was from a yard sale markdown but then I spotted the Hardware Fair sticker. Pre-UPC economy. This chain survived in #Baltimore from post WWII originally as the Baltimore Salvage Company, then expanding from a Pratt Street storefront to about a dozen retail stores from Glen Burnie to Reisterstown to Perry Hall.

It’s Friday, which means it’s Retro Game Of The Week time! This week, who you gonna call… yeah, them, as I delve into Ghostbusters for the Sega Master System and Sega Mega Drive!
Oh man, this shit is cool!
When you're that loving of your project and the things that made it good, you will do what you can to preserve the old arcade sound.
Quote by Andy Hofle: the author.
"The arcade ambience project is an attempt of mine to simulate the audio ambience of a crowded arcade room during the golden age of arcades in the 1980s. This is a sound I think that has been lost over the years and does not exist in today's pitiful arcades in my opinion. My main motivation for this project was to create some ambience in my basement arcade, having a somewhat authentic arcade background hum while I or my guests play on my MAME arcade cabinet. I thought that maybe others who have cabinets (or just miss real arcade nostalgia) could also benefit from my work." http://arcade.hofle.com/ #Arcade#old games #retro games #arcade sound #old arcades
"Magic Moon" - Der 14. Captain-Future-Roman gehört zu denjenigen Erzählungen, die bislang nicht ins Deutsche übersetzt worden sind - dafür aber wurde er als Animé-Episode verfilmt (Titel: "Die Rolle seines Lebens")...
Someone on FB unfriended me and they wanted me to know why. Ummm. So I said ok... think they wanted an apology for a comment I made on one of their posts instead of an ok 🤷🏻♀️ I do not want to be dragged into their drama. #socialMedia Is even more confusing for #ActuallyAutistic people 😳
Mastodon is a big part of my move away from Facebook. THIS is how social media was at the dawn of the internet (maybe we didn’t use that term) - we ended up with FB et al. We ended up with bullshit. I’m glad to make my way back to old school online socials. BTW, does IRC still exist? #SocialMedia#retro
"It is well-known that some Boeing 747s, for example, use floppy disks to load critical software updates into their navigation and avionics computers.
In San Francisco, the Muni Metro light railway, which launched in 1980, won't start up each morning without a floppy disk that controls the railway's Automatic Train Control System."
