In fact, about 100 PiS MPs (just over half of their total Sejm team) decided to gather at the entrance of TVP's main HQ at Woronicza Street, instead of voting against the resolution in Sejm. They don't have the majority, so their presence makes no difference.
Somebody on X-#birdsite said in relation to protests in defence of TVN24, when PiS-dominated National Radio & TV Council was extremely reluctant & unwilling to extend a broadcast licence of this liberal, truly critical of PiS, news channel, back in 2021.
They said:
"TVN was defended from politicians by people.
TVP is defended from people by politicians."
HIlary Jendrasiak @/sylogista on X-#birdsite reports the "Reset" documentary series that attacked Donald Tusk and his previous government under the hood of reporting on naZi ruZZia's atrocities from before war in Ukraine, and how Western politicians appeased him, has just been removed from TVP VOD. #TVPiS
「 Elon Musk privately told some of the bankers who lent him $13 billion to fund his leveraged buyout of Twitter that they would not lose any money on the deal, according to five people familiar with the matter 」
I am having a moment of being anxious over how my toots lately have been Off Brand, and I am not putting up enough folklore/storytelling content. And I worry people will unfollow me for not being On Brand.
Then I realize this is probably peak Birbsite conditioning talking... 😬
“The European Commission has opened formal proceedings to assess whether [#Twitter] X may have breached the Digital Services Act (#DSA) in areas linked to risk management, content moderation, dark patterns, advertising transparency and data access for researchers.”
Couldn’t happen to a more deserving billionaire. #birdsite
:omgdotlol: Twitter Apparently Lost $1.5 Billion in Ad Revenue as Elon Musk Flailed | @futurism
「 "We are not Twitter any longer and not measuring ourselves by old Twitter metrics — both in revenue and user metrics," Joe Benarroch, X's head of business operations, told Bloomberg when asked about the massive, continuing ad revenue drop since Musk took over 」 https://futurism.com/the-byte/twitter-billions-ad-losses
I might get shunned for this, but I think algorithmic feeds that was used by #birdsite is a good addition for #mastodon IF and only IF, it's transparent to the user.
Tune-able, easy to interpret, and doesn't lie. I think what made us angry was that our behavioral data is used in inappropriate ways by corpo for their selfish gain.
Seeing that even @mosseri from #Threads is at nearly 700k if they join in we are smashing this mighty quick. Be curious if the impact of massive follow counts has been pondered for #Mastodon and the like. Fail whale was everywhere for a while on #Twitter#Birdsite back in the day when things grew like that.
twitter not paying whitehats. what could go wrong?
this one recently disclosed a vulnerability that would have allowed people to gain control of the twitter accounts of users who merely clicked malicious links
Chaofan Shou @shoucccc 10h And we got the full JS exploit to chain with this XSS vulnerability! In another word, visiting this link earlier today would take over your account: Chaofan Shou @shoucccc 10h It is highly irresponsible for Twitter to ignore these security issues and not pay the whitehats. The architecture and design patterns also need to be corrected. x_austin X (Formerly Twitter) staff closed the report and changed the status to Resolved. rabbit @rabbit_2333 I submitted this bug report and didn't receive a bounty. You told me that this bug has existed for a year. Seeing that you haven't fixed it for so long, it seems that this bug is not important, so I made it public. Screenshot of conversation from HackerOne: x_austin X (Formerly Twitter) staff posted a comment. a minute ago @rabbit2333 why are you publicly disclosing security issues instead of submitting them to our bug bounty program? Would you mind deleting this post? This is something we're aware of and are addressing. Image F2918855: image.png 26.90 KIB
on the twitter link bug yesterday, which was highly coincidentally timed with the disclosure of a massive vulnerability that twitter refused to pay a bounty for
"A security researcher uncovered a Twitter vulnerability in its link shortener. The vulnerability allowed an attacker to craft a malicious URL that, if a user clicked on it, would grant the attacker access to the user's account. The researcher reported the vulnerability to Twitter's bug bounty program, which closed the report as not worthy of a bug bounty. So the researcher published the vulnerability. Immediately Twitter takes its link shortener offline for hours while they fix it.But the press is only reporting on an hours-long X/Twitter link shortener outage, and has completely missed the security issues that led to it.Molly White's coverage of the vulnerability (sorry for the Xitter link but that's just the problem, literally no one else is covering this): https://twitter.com/molly0xFFF/status/1734965774517768471 "
@molly0xfff@Two9A I think best practice there is to either hashtag it with #twitter or #birdsite (optionally putting it behind a content-warning with those).
Then you get the best of both worlds - the content and conversation that comes from it is in a place other than somewhere Elon controls access, and folks who really don't want to see it can hide easily.
