Thousands of migrant care workers have been threatened with deportation, despite doing nothing wrong, after the Home Office took enforcement action against their employers.
In 94% of cases, the reason for the cancellation was that the company that hired them had its right to sponsor workers revoked.
Ludicrous, when we're desperate for care workers in the UK.
The exploitation of #migrant#careworkers by visa sponsors (to whom they're tied by their visa conditions) is hardly news... but this #BBCPanorama undercover investigation makes the case through the fear & anxiety of the individuals involved.
The shambles & inhumanity of the UK's #migration policies is not limited to attempts to demonise & block desperate #refugees;
The #HomeOffice, having so far failed to deal with what it calls the 'small boat problem' has decided, it will now seek to constrain 'legal' #migration, because at least there it seems to have some traction.
Looks like #visa fees will go up (quite a lot), the number of dependents #careworkers can bring with them will be reduced. In other words, the HO wants to ensure that migrants have less reason to settle here & can just be exploited & then discarded.
