"You can't just talk and not listen...That's what the other side does." (#Obama). As if it wasn't what their own side did too. As if their wasn't any other side than these 2 billionaires-sponsored #capitalist shitty party. I think the only #US politician I can hear is #CornelWest (at least for what I know).
#CornelWest, objectively the most cogent candidate running for the US presidency this year, says: "the condition of truth is to allow suffering to speak".
In this snippet from The Examined Life (2008, dir. Astra Taylor), prof. West clarifies that he inherits the thought from #Adorno. But I wonder: is it a direct quote? Where does it appear in Adorno's corpus? Certainly it fits well within his philosophy, but I can't seem to find the exact passage...
Just caught the end of this interview with Cornel West and have to share. When asked whether change comes from #Activism or elected politicians, his answer:
“It’s always both, my brother, always both”
And about prospects after US elections (not verbatim):
“If Trump wins, I see Civil War 2; if Biden wins, I see World War 3”
And ends with:
“You don’t cave in, you don’t sell out, how else to live”. ❤️
Do you share #CornelWest's goal of helping to elect an Arab- and Muslim-hating psychopath? A man who banned Muslim immigration, and talks about how to "solve" the world's "Muslim problem"? Who suddenly cut off all aid to Palestinians in 2018 just for spite?
Is that why you're empowering the Republican Party, which claims "there are very few innocent Palestinian civilians," and most of them should be killed?
