Horrible, of course, but good. Quote him exactly so people hear what #psychologist#Dr.JohnGartner and over 2,000 people who work with people with #dementia have identified as #Trump's "probable dementia."
“The radical left — they’ve been after us for years, and they’ve screwing with people’s lives,” he said, without clarifying who else he was including in the statement. “They’ve gone out and hired lawyers, they’ve been with lawyers for years, being sucked dry.”
As the saying goes, "Real BOFH use tar and rsync!"
The blog article is an excellent treatment of using tar along with SSH to effect a reliable backup plan and schedule.
Another couple of great fav GoTo solutions of mine have always been Duplicity and Duply for those not comfortable rolling their own scripts w/SSH, tar, and/or rsync :batman:
Thank you very much for sharing this @nixCraft !!!
Congratulations to the inspiring #Dr.BruceMiller, who received the Susan Newhouse and Si Newhouse Award of Hope for his lifetime of research into #FTD (#frontotemporaldementia). His brilliance and empathy have touched so many, myself included. At the end of my memoir with Bruce, I wrote about how he was the doctor I wish my father, who had #early-onset #Alzheimer's, had known.
"The public is desperate to hear the truth from real experts about the state of #Trumps cognitive health. Don’t they deserve that? Esp, when all of our lives may depend on it. As people of conscience, we are defying this absurd professional gag order, to speak the truth about Trump’s probable #dementia before it’s too late."
Thank you #ChauncyDeVega for this coverage & thank you #Dr.JohnGartner for bravely speaking out. Yes, our lives may depend on it.
@CindyWeinstein
Another Chauncey Devega follower. I love his podcast The Chauncey Devega show.
He has a sharp eye and ear. I wish he were more widely followed.
@amyedge. Totally agree! He is doing such important work with this series on #Trump's #cognitive deterioration.
As one of the people interviewed says (I'm paraphrasing), anyone who has been with someone with #dementia knows what is happening. And now me: that the media is not covering this 24/7 is scandalous. Or as #Dr.Gartner says, "Not enough people are sounding the alarm, that based on his behavior, and in my opinion, Donald Trump is dangerously demented."
ChauncyDevega's latest #Salon piece w/hero, #Dr.JohnGartner, who has started a petition for licensed for licensed professionals to sign, "We Diagnose Trump W/Probable Dementia": "Trump’s a classic case of dementia. He ticks all the boxes. He’s shown a precipitous decline from his baseline—He once had a rich vocabulary & spoke in polished paragraphs. & he shows the classic disturbances in memory, language, behavior, & motor performance that we see in dementia patients."

#neurologist Jeffrey Cummings said this about the #memoir I wrote with #Dr.BruceMiller: "A book that brings humanity and science together is rare, but Finding the Right Words achieves this seamlessly and elegantly. Biography, diagnosis, history of behavioral neurology, and a daughter's love converge to produce a deep understanding of how brain disease affects personhood. Read this book to understand how your brain creates your self."
Since word-finding (and losing words) is front of mind for many people, I would like to draw your attention to the #memoir I wrote with #UCSF#neurologist, Dr. Bruce Miller. It's called Finding The Right Words: A Story of Literature, Grief, and the Brain, and it is about my father's #early-onset #Alzheimer's. #Dr.Miller explains the #neurology behind the manifestations of the #disease that I describe. Loss of words was one of my father's first symptoms.
@stevesilberman's Instagram post @rmayemsinger . Read #Salon interviews w/#Dr.JohnGartner: "Most of us have known someone, possibly in our own families, who’s had Alzheimer’s or some other form of dementia. The diagnostic signs are not subtle. I was giving voice to what ordinary people see w/their own eyes, & they were grateful for validation from a mental health professional." When my father lost words (before he could no longer speak), he'd whistle to show he knew his loss & then try again.
