Widespread major heat, highly unusual for early June, will expand across most of Western U.S. in coming days (minus some coastal areas). Record breaking high temps most likely Thu and Fri, but may persist in some areas for over a week. [1/2]

Camped at City Of Rocks National Reserve and this storm is legit. Near constant lightning. Tons of strong cloud to ground, most of it appears to be wet thankfully, but quite a bit outside the rain core.

IdahoFireInfo, to random

the GOES-west satellite fire temp loop shows the did bed down quite quickly after sunset and showing no heat yet this morning. This is largely due to night time temperature and humidity recoveries which aren't bad right now. The weather station at Leadore creek reported overnight lows in the mid 40s and humidities in the low-mid 60s.

you can see the fire in this image active just before sunset. an hour or so after shows nothing.

@IdahoFireInfo Probably worth hashtagging these more liberally, ie etc. so people can find them. Shortcoming of how search works on Mastodon.
