Got some more notices from Watch Duty today about a wildfire in my county but nowhere near me — a fire that was quickly extinguished. I smiled when I saw the familiar-to-me reporter name: Michael Silvester, who is in New Zealand. (He was CA Fire Scanner on Twitter.)
If you're in the Western US and at all concerned about wildfires, I highly recommend the Watch Duty app.
"If the plan is to convert everything worth converting into goodbye kiss revenues for a sunsetting industry, eventually a petrostate will need greater control of its populace & its democracy. The successful implementation of Bills 20 & 18 are vehicles to that end."
Major evacuations, out of control wildfires, and Axios (unsurprisingly) leads with U.S. air quality. (sorry, Canadians... Americans are bad at the "caring about people in other countries" part, even across the Canadian border).
